Help with which vacuum to buy please?

The problem that you have is that the saw produces dust and the thicknesses a mountain of shavings/chips. I would check the filter level of the scheppach unit. The alternative is a drop box solution on a vac based unit. On the latter, I have a camvac 2 motor thing and a cobbled together drop box...

for picture frames, I would probably suggest a hand plane rather than a budget machine.

Reasonable time to carry out remedial repair - opinions needed

"reasonable" is with regard to all of the circumstances which we dont really know. how much work needs doing? If it is a large amount, and a competent builder then it might not be unreasonable that they might be booked solid for a while. If it is half a day then I would expect that they could...

    ebay/PayPal holding account. any Scams?

I would think that you believe that PayPal are holding the money, but in reality it is a fraudulent site that looks like PayPal, so when you realise that the item doesn't exist you try to get money back only to realise it has gone. My advice is to not pay anything until you are able to view...

not sure that all of these are relevant but no 3 appears to be. https://thetechieguy.com/paypal-scams/

    ebay/PayPal holding account. any Scams?

but that is the other way round- it is a temporary hold on the sellers money, not the buyer prepaying to view the item.

    ebay/PayPal holding account. any Scams?

what exactly is being asked? sounds like the PayPal "escrow" scam to me*? is the item high value, price almost too good to be true, seller insists on some money up front "at no risk to you" etc? These are often fairly remote locations, so visiting isnt an option, for example I enquired about a...

    Clear glass splashback?

can you make it removable? it would then be straightforward to clean both front and back. If she has chosen this one, I fear that you wont win the battle of changing it to something else.

are we talking the same thing? the one I was looking at was £300 and was a toy rather than hipster transport.

    electric scooters

I see some kids around here wizzing around on small electric scooters (they seem to be using them sensibly and responsibly, so this isnt a criticism). Anybody any suggestions which one to buy my daughter. They look cool, I know that she would love one!

    Darkening brass?

I fumed some with ammonia once. Remove the lacquer (if any), and expose it to the fumes. I don't have a picture because it was a gift and I have only done it once. Test on scrap first though!

Any thoughts on selling your items via Ebay?

My opinion... Not sure if it is applicable here because you only have a couple of items to sell. Probably not worth setting up an Etsy store for it. I would think that the main issue with eBay is that most people want a bargain. You only need 1 buyer for each though, and it is minimal effort to...

    Lathe purchase ideas...

The axi seems slow, my jet mini has a top speed of 3500 I think. It is a speed I use often for pens and the like, less so for bigger lumps.

    Lets talk lawn mowers.

I have a Bosch electric rotary mower. it does a good job and is all I need but is boring! what I want to do is to spend this year sorting out the lawn (flattening out the bumps and reseeding) then getting a petrol vintage cylinder mower.

    Asbestos

you can buy the double bags from ebay. check the spec though because the cheapest ones aren't necessarily compliant with what the tips require. Some local authorities charge for removal, but it is a lot less than getting somebody to do it. 80m2 is about 30 sheets I would think is it?
