    Rutlands Warning!

The Rutlands web site clearly shows that it's referring to Trustpilot reviews and specifies that it's displaying 4 and 5 star reviews - it even has a direct link to Trustpilot so that sceptics can see for themselves. I can't see what's supposed to be bogus or misleading about that!🙄

    Woodpecker clamping squares

I have a bunch of these from Banggood - they're very good.

Just to rub it in: 2 litre bottles of decent beer are around £1 here, Czech pils around £1/litre, gin/brandy/blended whiskey c£4 - and my FiL's excellent 25-year old grape moonshine cost me nothing for 700 litres :D

Here in BG, you can get reasonable quaffable wines for 30 bob a two-litre bottle; my favourite good red goes for just over £2 a bottle.... 😉

    Car recovery experiences

I'm no great fan of Churchill, and I don't really see that the topic is relevant to the original post, but since you mention it, do you seriously think that the governments in the Sub-Continent and Africa ARE capable of running a country or an economy? Idealism is a wonderful thing but not when...

Osmo Top or Wax and elbow grease?

I don't know about "not suitable": the last one I did with wax still looks good over ten years later. It's had one light extra coat of wax rubbed in during that time and the odd 10- minute buff up - and it's in a rented property so doesn't exactly get any TLC....

Nope - green dusters blend in better when you live on the edge of a forest ;)

Tell me about it! After more decades than I care to think about of Range Rover and Discovery masochism, I finally bought a Dacia Duster.....what a relief! But I do miss the LR seats, I have to say....

Osmo Top or Wax and elbow grease?

Yes, I assumed it would be - but I was wondering if it's actually any better than oil followed by old fashioned wax from a tin, or easier to apply/work in....

Osmo Top or Wax and elbow grease?

I'm looking at a 2x1 metre oak block worktop for a kitchen island. My usual approach in the past has been to put a coat of worktop oil on both sides and then two or three applications of Ronseal wax (or local equivalent) and elbow grease on the top surface. I know that the wax isn't food safe...

The adults use those here - my pa-in-law's moonshine is excellent ;) We've been gradually working our way through 3/4 of a ton of it, some of which has been maturing in oak barrels for over 20 years....

View That Greets Me By My Workshop

I'm just getting "Page Not Found" on all those.... :(

View That Greets Me By My Workshop

The immediate view from my workshop is "blocked" by a cherry tree currently in blossom - it was originally a plum but we cut the branches back a few years ago and grafted two varieties of cherry onto them - and some budding oleanders. This is the view beyond the trees.

No, it's only if a camera or a cop sees you..... ;)

Why "ran" off? It seems that actually punishing crims nowadays is an affront to their human rights and self esteem - I'm surprised that the owner of the car wasn't arrested for attempted entrapment.....

To be fair, most drivers in the US don't know what clutch pedals and gear sticks are for either... ;)

You're correct - in most of Europe it's regarded as typical of people driving Mercedes, Porsche and Audi as well. It's unfair to pick on BMW drivers... Ever wonder how they did computing before computers?

Nope - what your father told you still holds true: "Kids today don't even know they're alive!" ;)

Electric house heating - any new tech savvy members?

Here in BG the most common form of heating uses wood, either woodburner or pellet boilers. Gas is available in the cities and larger towns but it's expensive - and now non-existent thanks to "Uncle Vladimir". Electric boilers are used by most people for hot water - there are also wood-fired...

    Fire pit grill

Every one to his own taste - but if you really think that sous vide is "boil in the bag" then I can understand the attraction of Uber Eats or even McD.... :D
