What have I done wrong? Carcass not square

myward wrote "Corner to corners being equal ensures its square, always use the largest square you can to check square edges and the same with spirit levels because you are after the average over the length and not just a small section. " with carcase construction that's a good check , until...

Delta lathe Reeves variable speed drive spares

looks identical to a jet. A few months ago, just took apart the reeves pullies , cleaned em, and re-installed them. problem was too much dust on the shafts, preventing one/both from sliding as you changed speeds! Buddy just bought one with pully problems, so I priced them for him from the local...

What is the correct chisel to use for opening metal paint tins?

I prefer to use proportional dividers. If the tips don't bend too much initially you can hammer on the other end with a small sledge to perforate the lid to get additional prying traction! Eric.. (running and ducking) Sorry could't resist

    Wolfcraft Doweling Jig

I'd be seriously looking at the British made marples m148. certainly no longer made, but an awesome jig. With appropriate rods, it can dowel 24" carcases without fuss, instead of the pretenders whom can only manage 3-6" widths. https://www.ebay.com/itm/295097626169 Eric in the colonies

    Tracing water ingress.

Worth assessing. Does the leakage relate to heavy rains? I have had over the years two clients whom related leakage around windows inside the house . The cause was traced back to lack of drip edges on the roof, so in heavy rains, the gutters overflowed, , got beind the facia aluminum and that...

    ...ed Off...

we've had a couple of neigbours whom have had to have their street connection replaced. My understanding is they dig up the street connection, tie on to the old water line and pull it through to the house. one neighbour,s street connection was crimped by thefoundation, so they had to dig up...

Advice needed - How this entrance can be thermally insulated?

This is a sideways photo of our front door (side windows on top) taken with an inexpensive android compatible thermal camera. You can see the blue, which is cold...not sure of the thermal colour gradient.. Nowadays, I would take a much cheaper laser thermometer to more accurately ***** what is...
