..bandsaw "and" a tracksaw......not "with"....ie tracksaw better for cutting up large panels etc...

..different animals really, so I guess it depends on the type of work you want to do? Form me I went bandsaw but that was mainly that I don't have the space for a table saw, and I don't really trust myself with one! As above a good compromise could be a bandsaw and a track saw?

Lower rear guide pics. The top pic is looking down (table removed), into the table trunion mechanism that supports the rear bearing "bar". .....ooops soory, yes the upper support is all part of the same assembly which can be moved as one block, I actually meant to say the "lower" back support. This mechanism is built into the base that support the table and trunion mechanism and has a lot of travel, but all in the wrong direction!

..Hi again, just been googling this, and popular opinion is that it doesn't really matter were the blade sits on the bottom wheel so I will leave well alone! Still not sure why I can't get the upper "back" guide to sit near the blade though?...I may give Record a call, but not sure there is...

OK back to the bandsaw. Now fully set up and running but noted a problem withe the lower "back" tensioner. There is insufficient travel to get it close enough to support the blade? I noted the bearing is 22mm dia, but the "spot face" on the mounting bar is considerably larger....just wondering...

..I got my neighbour to to help lift it as they owe me a few favours....I just managed to get her out of her wheelchair long enough......she is a good sport for a bed ridden 92 year old!

...well mine has just arrived...stand finished but need help to lift the bandsaw onto it...a bit heavy for 1..!!
