Just bought my first band saw (bargain)

..just to add, when the saw is not in use I always "back off" the blade tension. ie normally a couple of turns on the tension nut. I place the relevant spanner on the bed to make sure I remember to re tension it before I use it again..

Hi all and many thanks for the advice...looks like purchasing a basic MFT top is the way to go for me...and no danger of doing any hand planing!!

    MFT...DIY or buy??

Hi all, thinking about making an MF Table. Been doing a lot og googling and noted some people have had a go at making their own either with or without fancy jigs. I like the idea of a jig, but not much point in forking out £200 odd quid for a jig that will cost more than buying a top, (will not...

Mitre saw options between £150 and £250

..for me a trenching function is a must, and so easy to add to a saw I simply can't understand why some saws don't have on??

Aldi Ferrex Bandsaw tension varies as it rotates.

Assuming the design is "good" there are 2 main things that can go wrong with the process, either it is not capable, or it is not being followed? It is expecting a lot if the wheels are not "round" and the end user is expected to re-turn them true??

    Cordless lawnmowers any good?

Aldi Ferrex Bandsaw tension varies as it rotates.

...typical Chinese cheese product variation. Can't undertand in these modern times why they can't simply get the product right. The design is basically sound, just masses of variation in the manufacturing process which is odd given the inherent stability of modern machining processes? The...

    My dilemma

..my shed is the same size as yours, and this is what I do, got a stand from Aldi for £40, and just set it up outside. (You need to anyway if you are cutting long pieces?)

Power files? Any advice / experience please?

..I got a cheapie "Silverline" of Amazon for about £30 (at the time, now £50!!)..and I would not be without it. Does not get a lot of use, but when you need one, you need one. For me a no brainer...

    Power file, fix or replace?

Aldi Bandsaw ( new model) coming soon. Buy it or choose other model

When I had a problem with my earlier Aldi Bandsaw I contacted Scheppach to get a spare part and they catagorically denied having anything to do with Aldi, and the actual part I needed was slighlty different to the one shown on the Scheppach maual. Aldi may just be purchasing items directly off...

Aldi Bandsaw ( new model) coming soon. Buy it or choose other model

..apols..a bit of a glitch with the system, was going to say the Sheppach one does not have roller bearing guides? When I had a problem with my earlier Aldi bandsaw I contacted Scheppach as it looked identical to a model in their own brand but they denied they had anything to do with Aldi. So...
