    Dry flex 4?

..brill..thanks for the advice..much appreciated. Just out of interest what preservative would you recommend?...seems to be loads about but never used the stuff before. I will also need to "stain" the wood / filler when completed.... ...many thanks

    Dry flex 4?

..what sort of "thickness" would you go to with dryflex?....and would you normally use wooden "filler" pieces to bulk it out?. The actual dryflex itself seems an OK price, but the pre-treatment (dry fix I think) seems a but expensive...

    Dry flex 4?

Hi Cowfoot and many thanks for your reply....I had a chat with the supplier and they offered some good advice. It looks like I may go for the dry flex 4 "single" tube and prep kit. Not looking forward to it, but I need to do something soon!!

    Dry flex 4?

Hi all, I have recently found a "rot" problem with our conservatory. My wood working skills are limited to a mitre saw, butt joints, doweling and screwing. I have googled for inspiration and come across "dry flex" as a possible solution. just wondering if anybody with some experience can...

    Aldi Mitre saw stand......good value

Hi all, I recently "upgraded" my old mitre saw and got a Metabo. I have been contemplating getting a stand for it but could not really make my mind up, the cheaper ones only have "single" extension rods and this causes the supports to "twist", and I was not sure I could justify an expensive...

    Best Mitre Saw under £350

..yep..the Festool looks like the dogs dangly bits to me. If you want to spend that sort of money its probably the one I would go for. Just the original post said under £350 and this seems to be £450+VAT, so not really a fair comparison with a 200 quid Metabo? ..you pays your money...etc......

    Best Mitre Saw under £350

..if you are "loaded, ie money no object, buy the most expensive saw you can afford... ....if not just buy the Metabo.....by the sound of it it will do what you want, and at a good price that leaves plenty over for a saw stand..(you will really need one of these if you intend cutting "long"...

    Best Mitre Saw under £350

..I had the same ones on my initial list. I ended up with the Metabo. I had it saved on my Amazon wish list and when the price dropped to £199 I brought it. Have used it a few times now and it seems to be fine...no regrets, and the cutting capacity compared to my old 10" saw is brilliant! My...

    Best Mitre Saw under £350

buy a 205mm dia saw and at some point you will find its not quite big enough.....(its what I did a few years ago)....so Metabo kgs254m did it for me..Amazon price dropped to £199....

    Best Mitre Saw under £350

If this is the 214mm saw I would suggest the Metabo is much better value as the larger, 250 dia saw gives a much bigger cutting range..(+cheaper to boot). There are also some pretty awful reviews about on some Makita saws. (See Amazon reviews on this saw). I looked at some when I was searching...

    Best Mitre Saw under £350

..I had been looking for months and recently took the plunge with the Metabo kgs254...well under budget, large cutting capacity and not too heavy to lug around....happy so far...

    Anyone Recognizes this Router/trimmer?

I got one of these a few months ago as it seemed "good value". it actually feels quote good quality and performs really well. I would certainly recommend it for light / casual work...(NB it may be fine for heavier work but I only use it very occasionally).

Compound Sliding Mitre Saw for DIY/Hobbiest

Makita was on my original wish list, (as was dewalt). However after looking at various Makita products I was disappointed with the quality of the "slide". Several I tried in shops felt very "gritty".....far worse than my original 2nd hand / re-manufactured cheapie. I also read some really bad...

Compound Sliding Mitre Saw for DIY/Hobbiest

I spent months looking for a new mitre saw, slowly ruling out those on my initial list for various reasons (too expensive / too cheap / no trench cut), and finally ended up with the Metabo 254 which after being on my Amazon watch list briefly dipped to £199..so decision made. Have been happy so...

    RYOBI EMS254L

..as per another recent post....I have spent ages looking and finally ended up with a Metabo. Not had chance to really test the accuracy, but initial thoughts are its a reasonable compromise cost v quality. Would have liked the Bosch..but could not justify £450 odd quid. Equally I looked at the...

    Titan sliding mitre saw

..cake and eat it?....there is a 2nd hand Bosch GCM10SD 240v on ebay at the mo for £100?....(In Stafford)...I am not sure whether I am allowed to post a link, so just in case I wont....no bids yet so it may go for more...I really wanted one of these before I got my Metabo, but couldn't really...

    Titan sliding mitre saw

I have the Metabo, and I must admit from what I have seen from the picture of the Lumberjack, the Metabo would stil get my vote...it appears to be far more "robust"..(comparing some basic criteria like length of "support tubes" etc... ..like the post above I was really keen on the Dewalt but...

    Titan sliding mitre saw

....I guess you get what you pay for. I spent a long time searching for a new Mitre saw. Really fancied the Bosch, but could not really justify the cost. Did not fancy a cheapie, (buy cheap buy twice)?...so ended up looking at a Metabo KGS 254, eventually ordering it when the price dropped to...
