I can indeed, and often do.

    Thicknessing small pieces of wood

Interesting, did not know that rubbing alchol dissolves the hot melt glue. But would the alcohol mark or stain the wood?

    Thicknessing small pieces of wood

If I had long lengths I wouldn't be asking how to do it. it is well seasoned firewood that I am wanting to use, so its all 6 to 9 inches long. I was hoping to cut it close to 8mm thickness on the band saw then get a close as possible to 7mm thickness for an inlay thing I'm considering making...

    Thicknessing small pieces of wood

I have thought about attaching to a larger piece, which may work well. However would double sided be strong enough? the stuff I have wouldn't be. Hot melt glue would be strong enough, but the problem would be ungluing afterwards. I have thought of hot melt gluing them onto a piece of steel...

    Thicknessing small pieces of wood

Thicknessing small pieces of wood lets say 100mm square to 7mm thick. What is the best way to do this? We have a large spiral thicknesser/planer but at a guess it needs something 18 inches long to go through.

    Heavy Duty 4" Ducting

may be what we bought 2 to 3 years ago was just poor quality, its all splitting, esp so on where it is often moved. Do you know what make yours is? and if they still make it to the same quality.

    Heavy Duty 4" Ducting

We have one of these planer / thicknesser that you have to change the ducting from one side to the other depending on whether thicknessing or planning. The result is this ludicrously expensive 100mm ducting does not last long, it gets damaged, it splits, and there is only so much cling film that...

Passing Cyclists in UK with a car Genuine help question

You can see stuff coming in the opposite direction and avoid when nesisary. Folk overtaking, it is far less obvious what they might do. Esp so when riding into a strong wind and can't pick up the tell tale sounds of what the drivers attitude/style is. That is why the highway code focuses on...

Passing Cyclists in UK with a car Genuine help question

I don't see the problem in interpenetrating the new rules; Rule 163 Overtake only when it is safe and legal to do so. You should leave at least 1.5 metres when overtaking cyclists at speeds of up to 30mph, and give them more space when overtaking at higher speeds there is no mention of...

    Record Power Warning sticker

The instructions for our band saw are just stupid. It says the machine must be unplugged before opening the doors, but to change the blade the brake needs to be off, you can only disengage the brake when the machine is plugged in and switched on. Record couldn't give me a sensible answer to this...

Failing grayling achieved tis in his role of Transport secretary - lol seriously though, getting car doored is a thing, if you ever see a cyclist taking a wide berth of parked cars (passing to the right), they are not doing it to purposefully slow you down, they are keeping wide in case...
