    Vaccum pump filter?

Ah interesting. If it was water though, wouldn't that draw moisture into the oil in the pump?

    Vaccum pump filter?

I've been doing some experimenting recently with wood stabilising. Making my own wood hardener from acetone and plexiglass. I now want to experiment with using a vaccum to draw it into the timber. However, I'm guessing that the acetone fumes will not be good for the pump and will damage the...

Drying wet wood vs drying green wood?

I have some boards I have purchased that are about 3" thick and are completely dry. I plan to cut them into blanks at some point. I don't have anywhere to store them, so plan to keep them outside. If they were to get rained on and soaked, how long would they then take to dry? I can of course...

    Sealing With Wax?

Has anyone tried sealing the ends of blanks with Wax? How did you get on and what kind of wax did you use (Paraffin wax?) I know lots of people use PVA, but no matter if I thin it or use it neat(3 coats), I've not have much luck, the wood still cracks. So wanted to try the kind of wax you see...

    Air filter

I might try one then. But from the comments, it sounds like I'll have still get that fine layer of dust over everything, just perhaps without the super fine particles.

    Air filter

Realisticly, what can you expect from these devices? I'm thinking of getting one for my single garage. I appreciate they *claim* to circulate the air, but is it a case of it doing a good job in places close to the air filter, but dust being just as bad a few meters away? My use case is...

    Never lose a pencil again

My Table saw has a pencil storage device. Well, it has two actually. (mitre gauge grooves :) )

    Reverse direction turning safety

I find the reverse functionality very useful but only in specific situations, and only really to make it more comfortable for me in that it means not having to bend over the bed bars so much. A rotating headstock can help, but sometimes you don't want to adjust the current setup. Can't say I've...

    Small compressor?

Thanks for the help guys, as suggested by Sideways, I went with an tankless Air Brush compressor. It does exactly what I want and is very compact and quiet. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B019CKY4UU/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_image_o02_s00

    Small compressor?

No leak with the pressure chamber as it works fine when tested with a normal air compressor I'm also quite capable of knowing when the battery is dead. And as I already said, it pumps my tyres up to 100 psi

    Small compressor?

Interesting, ebay has them for £25 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/394176992608 https://www.amazon.co.uk/C-FUN-Speed-Compressor-Heavy-Inflator/dp/B07PNNBLV9

    Small compressor?

Just tested that this morning with a friends air brush compressor. It got to about 25psi, but no higher. The air brush compressor was set to around 55 psi. What I don't understand is how I can pump my wheelchair tyres up to 100psi with the following, yet when I use it on the tank, it stops at...

    Small compressor?

I tried a car tyre inflator as I mentioned

    Small compressor?

So why wouldn't the car tyre inflator work? (Tried two)

    Vacuum Chuck

Just thought I'd share my experience with this, as there was some confusion with the pa to hg values. When vacuums pumps list an ultimate pa value, ...the lower the value, the better. Anything 1pa or less *could* give a really good vacuum of 29hg or more. I purchased a £100 0.8pa 3cfm vacuum...

    Small compressor?

I was asking what the smallest I could get away with is, and is there something I can use without a tank as I don't need to store air. I just want something to compress the vacuum chamber as that's all it will be used for.

    Small compressor?

I've purchased a 10 litre pressure chamber to work with resin that I want to use indoors. I'm wondering what the smallest compressor is that I can get away with to fill it to the required 60 psi? I naively thought I could use a 12v car/bike pump which says it goes up to 120psi. But it barely...

    Order tracking

It doesn't happen often, but it does happen. Just this past week I had a text about a pallet delivery. It did have a consignment number, but that number didn't relate to any kind of tracking available on their website. So just from the text alone, you would have no idea what the order was. But...

    Problem with chuck runout

It's very frustrating isn't it :( Can I ask where exactly you're measuring that 0.08mm? at the top of the drill bit?
