    Wilson vice identification/info

Nice work..the spring is a difficult one…I’ve seen similar ones used as a return spring on gardening secateurs which could maybe be modified to fit the vice… the original colour is a light grey/green..

An early Record 52 1/2 vice, finishing options.

The problem with a blo coating, is that it will act as a magnet for dust and wood powder,…I never use grease or thick oils on vices or chucks etc for that reason.. I periodically wipe over with 3 in one which acts as a lubricant and rust prevention Boeshield T-9…is excellent for corrosion...

Looking for a tap of a certain variety

The 1/4” drive ones are exactly the same as your picture..they don’t have a bulbous end, and you can easily connect a wobble bar to them

    Soldering question...

Some one has already mentioned it, but the fact you say the metal is silver coloured when yo removed the coating may mean it’s not copper…it may be aluminium…in which case it’s back to the drawing board

    Help MT2 stuck

My apologies…I’ve just re-read your solution and I agree, it should just unscrew, There is an internal thread on the collet holder.. It looks like we have all been assuming that because it’s a morse taper that it knocks out, when in fact it is simply screwed in? That’s why I asked for another...

Impact Driver : Bosch Blue or Metabo

A big consideration is needed to the other tools you use…batteries are expensive, and using different types with different chargers etc gets really expensive… If you already have a type of battery in use, you can then buy other bare tools at a much cheaper price..
