    What eats MDF?

Probably wood boring or death watch beetle…If you were in Australia, I’d say termites, but they’re very rare in the UK. Wasps do make they’re nests from wood, I caught one gnawing on a window sill once , the noise was incredible, but they don’t tend to make that much damage

    Metal lathe? Peterborough area?

This has all got unnecessarily complicated….the cost of buying a die etc to do the job would be more than value of the part, and probably never used again. I would be happy to make you one if you send me the parts you have. I have all the taps, dies, bolts etc to make you one… cheers john...

You don’t say how old they are….I’m thinking maybe any old lubrication dust etc may have hardened causing them to stick…a squirt of brake cleaner or WD40 may help..

Help please - "tool" gone "all sticky" outside

I have some vintage screwdrivers with yellow plastic handles…over time the plastic forms beads of moisture which easily wipes off, but reappears after time…I’ve tried wiping with WD40 and white spirit, but it keeps happening…strange..

    Metal lathe? Peterborough area?

Looking closer at the last pic I would say it’s BSW…and probably 1/4” if the 6mm is a sloppy fit. UNC would fit…

    Metal lathe? Peterborough area?

If 6mm is a sloppy fit, it’s probably 1/4” BSF….BSF…British Standard Fine, and BSW..British Standard Whitworth are the common imperial threads used on tools and engineering along with BA…British Association, UNF and UNC…Unified national fine and course….BSF bolts are easy to get hold of on...

Tool sharpening service for around 30 chisels?

As mentioned above, if you intend getting into turning seriously it would be worth buying a Tormek or Robert Sorby sharpening system…and doing them yourself…there’s lots of info on YouTube…They can be used to sharpen other tools as well…and it’s quite therapeutic doing it yourself..
