Greetings from the Highlands - I'm on the lookout for Meddings MB4 MKII parts

Welcome to the forum. I spent most of my younger years living on farms near Inverness, I used to live at Inverarnie, near Farr. A really great place to be brought up. The place has changed a lot. My favourite drinking place when I was at school was the Gellions, a pie and a pint, I'm sure it was...

    Disc Sander - Rebuild

It looks sturdy enough to last a lot longer. 😁

    Order tracking

The delivery arrived OK, on time, so it was OK. It was just an example of how bad the tracking process can be. I wasn't in a hurry for the part.

    Disc Sander - Rebuild

what about using sanding disks with holes and corresponding holes in the motor disk so you can suck the dust from the rear with a shroud round the motor disk. A lot of hassle, and not sure how well it would work?

    Bandsaw tension meter build questions

I had to google Lennox tension gauge to see what you are trying to achieve. I have never seen one before, but an interesting gauge to try to make. Am I right in thinking the Lennox is calibrated. How will you convert the linear movement to tension? by calculation? It seems for wood, about...

    Thread tapping.

Easy!!!! When I am drilling/tapping holes, I set the piece in the drill vice, drill the hole to the required size, then fit the tap in the chuck without disturbing the piece. I do the first bit of the thread just turning the chuck by hand, or using the chuck key for a bit of leverage. This...

    Order tracking

I deleted the message I got, thought it was a scam, so I can't remember the name of the supply company on the courier's message. Can't even remember the courier! I know it wasn't Warren tools, the other name for Warco. Warco and the couriers will have a full record of collections/deliveries...

    Order tracking

I wish that was always the case, but the delivery I had from Warco didn't have any information about who was delivering the package and the delivery company didn't show the parcel was from Warco, it was coming from a different company. the good thing is that despite all the missing information...

Complete the phrase "I'm sweating like...."

Sweating like a fanny!! I'm sure if the hot weather continued, Irn Bru would have an advert for it. Edit: thought I should include a link

    Disc Sander - Rebuild

That looks like a really sturdy disk sander. Great design. Did you originally fabricate all the parts? Why not make a removable dust shield?

Building a Grand Tour/ Tour de France bike

Fantastic video. Very high tech, but I was really happy to see they uses a couple of good old plastic tie wraps on one part. I also liked where they uses a digital level to set the seat angle. All set-up, so precise.

    Order tracking

Yes, very frustrating. I bought something from Warco recently, but the shipment was done by another company, so I got a text from the courier saying my parcel was on the way, from some company I had never heard of. There was nothing on the text to confirm what it was. It just looked like a scam...

    Hi everyone!

The Parkside chain hoist is very good. It's rated at 1000Kg and the lift chain moves almost 3m. It makes a lovely noise as you pull the chain round.

    Trend angle measurer £16.

I have one and find it really useful for fitting skirting/flooring where the corners are not 90 degrees..... like all the corners in my house.

    Disc Sander - Rebuild

Yes, always interest in things like this. Only lasted 30 years? I hope you make a better job this time 😁

I'm very sorry. Please just ignore what I said. I apologise for making the suggestion. My sense of humour is a bit odd at times.

    Hi everyone!

I see your other post on the milling machine. it looks an interesting machine and note your comment about the Naerok/Alpine keeping vertical alignment. Lucky you!! I can handle something that size. I just recently got an endless chain from Lidl and it is the best £40 I have spent in ages, also...

    Naerok RDM350M milling machine

I would weld up a very sturdy stand for the mill and put the cabinet under it. I would also put wheels on the stand, but engineer a system to raise/lower the stand, so it's not resting on the wheels when static. It looks a bit top heavy, so much care needed when moving.
