    What’s with this Scam?

I wish they would, I suspect they can't get CE marking without doing major changes. It was sold on Amazon UK, I think it was about £900, but other charges on top of that.

    An old shopping bag?

I have a plastic tub I use. I fill it with the tools I think I'll need, but always end up with three times as many as I start with. It makes me more disciplined about putting things back to where they belong when I'm done.

    Recommendation for security cameras

My son in law uses the Arlo system. I think he has about 10 cameras scattered about the property, inside and out. They get alerts on their phone if any motion is detected. It seems to work very well.

Cleaning sealed ball bearings, questions about stuff.

Today, I had to do a repair on my bike and happened to notice some rust muck coming from my bottom bracket which has a BB30 bearings (42mm Outside and 30mm inside Dia.) When I took the pedals off, and rotated the bearings, they were full of crud. I picked out the bearing seal, very very easy...

Advice needed on cleaning and reviving joinery in Victorian property

You will get lots of good advice on here, but before doing anything, I would contact the engine shed, which is in Stirling. In their words:- "" The Engine Shed has been supported by a grant from the National Lottery Heritage Fund. Thanks to National Lottery players, we have been able to create...

    Fitting a ceiling light.

At least you now know which switch to turn off in future. :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: I find it hard to believe you have been working on live circuits for 20 years and not get a shock. You must be very very lucky. I would go buy some lottery tickets for Friday!

Plasma cutter back in Lidl 17 Feb £149

EMC, It's a class A device, which means they couldn't get it to pass Class B. Class A is for industrial use. Class B is for consumer use. Lidl sell into a consumer market, so this is a bit 'iffy'. In absolute terms, there isn't a huge difference between limits. According to the 'rules' this...

Buying a machine on eBay sight unseen with pallet delivery

Where is it? perhaps someone on the forum will be near and would do a quick inspection for you. Tell the seller you have someone who will go and see the equipment to verify it is as described, where can they view it. If they are reluctant to do this. I would be ultra suspicious. This sound very...

    Fitting a ceiling light.

There might have been a switch mode PSU in the circuit somewhere and the input storage capacitor still had a bit of charge. There are also filter capacitors (X and Y ) The X capacitor can retain charge for a few minutes if there isn't a bleed resistor. Some manufactures might not fit bleed...

Dundee is a beautiful City there has been so many improvements to the city centre over the last few years. but like all big cities, there are some areas in Dundee where I wouldn't rent and anything to do with property seems to attract scammers on Gumtree and Marketplace.

    Hold onto your hats

On a Friday, I travel up to the Dundee side of Perth, up the M90. Fortunately I had heard about the snow there. Not a lot, but on that long hill at Glenfarg, there was chaos, also on the A9. Lorries stuck on hills. The road system just ground to a halt. We just stopped for breakfast at Powmill...

Cleaning sealed ball bearings, questions about stuff.

Sometimes it's good to try to do this, just for the fun of it and to see if you can. It might work, it might not, but it's how you learn. Go for it!!!
