    Found Tilley Lamp

I haven't heard it for years, but I love the sound a Tilley makes as it burns. Brings back comforting memories from when I was really young.

    Have any dumb dreams?

My son also went through a period when he was young where he saw 'growlies' at night. it terrified him...and me!!

    Have any dumb dreams?

Not dreams, but years ago I used to regularly wake and see a person in the room. One time I opened my eyes to see a face about 6 inches from mine. It was a bit scary at first, but I soon realised that if I just lay and waited a wee while, they faded and disappeared. I think I was in a transient...

    Cross line laser

@Bingy man found the Lica Lino L2+ at Toolstop, which is very near me, for £121, which is well within my budget. I think a red line would do me fine. I'm only using it indoors and being a photographer, the Leica name carries a lot of weight.

    Is my router good enough?

I agree, I think your machine is a bit too small for the cutters you are using. I have the Triton TRA001 and it's a really good machine. I have mine permanently bench mounted. I couldn't use it hand held, just too big for me. I have a small old ELU MOF 96 for circle cutting, but most of the...

    Cross line laser

that's encouraging, a lot of the reviews say the batteries go flat even when the unit is turned off.......have you checked it recently? ;)

    Cross line laser

Thanks. I need it to lock so I can get the beam at an angle for aligning pictures on the stairs.

    Cross line laser

Is that one lockable? It doesn't say in the DeWalt Spec, so I suspect it isn't

    Cross line laser

What is the battery life like? a lot of reviews say it's very hard on batteries?

    Cross line laser

I'm gradually getting through my to-do list since retiring. Now time to put the pictures back up after redecorating....two years ago. I want to get a self levelling cross line laser, which will lock, so I can get diagonal lines. Budget, perhaps up to £150. As usual a bewildering choice out...

    Do NOT buy this model

I can see your point, but the device is sold as an wireless isolating switch. If this switches on at random, it is absolutely a safety issue. A user might have a radiant electric fire attached to it and expect the fire to stay off when switched off. They turn the switch off using the remote...

    Do NOT buy this model

Interesting, the advert says 'UK Device fully safety Approved' which is an unusual statement to make. I would love to see the safety report and what testing was actually done. If it really has full CE certification, that covers safety and EMC, Any design engineer worth their salt would have...

    Have any dumb dreams?

What an amazing thing you did. You probably saved that child's life, It's really unfortunate you have been left with this bad dream. Is it possible you have some kind of PTSD and your mind won't let you escape from the thought of what might have happened if you hadn't saved the child. It would...

    Coach Screw v Coach Bolt

These joyner bolts look very interesting. I would also use a timber connector in the middle

Cutting lots of M3 threaded rod - 15mm to 30mm long

I would change the design of the knob, so you can use off the shelf M3 screws of the appropriate length. Still use the insert, but fit the screw from the other end.
