    Meddings Scroll Saw

I have a cheap scroll saw, but don't use it a lot, but I happened to see a Meddings advertised locally for a reasonable price. I didn't realise what a monster machine it was. I imagined from the ad. it was about half the size  Here's a picture of getting it out of the back of the car...

    My heart is broken

Very sad to hear about your dog. They really are one of the family. I think dogs are the most loyal companion you can have. That is a beautiful picture of your girls.

    Hi Tracy here

Welcome to the forum Tracy. I think most people on here have more tools than they know what to do with them. :)

Ladders against gutters... And what to do when getting onto a roof ladder?

at 70+ I still get up on the roof using a ladder or a ladder off my tower. I now always tie the ladder/tower to anchor loops I have dotted about the walls. I also use a body harness and have rope loops along the ladder. If moving from a ground ladder to roof ladder, I have a rope loop on the...

Roof ladder - what's the ideal length? And is two piece a no-no?

I got ridge hooks to convert one of my ladders to a roof ladder. It has wheels and works OK. The wheels are small, so can be difficult to get it over slates at times. The ladder should be long enough so you can climb on to it from the ladder on the ground. I wouldn't ever have a roof ladder...

    3 in 1 oil

3 in 1 is great for delicate items like sewing machines. You know it won't turn to jelly. It may be over three times the cost of your typical motor oil, but it's only £3 for 200ml, so low outlay and lasts for ages...as long as the bottle doesn't fall over. I don't like the plastic bottle. I've...

    Toddler Bed Advice

Have you considered designing the bed so the sides can be removed as the toddler gets older and too old for a 'baby' bed. It's a full length single bed, so could last for years. For my grandson's bed, I just used this to stop him falling out of bed in the middle of the night. He won't need it...

Wadkin 10" AGS and BAOS 12"

I Love old cast iron machinery. I never bother doing a full refurb and paint job. I just use it as I get it, but that looks fantastic. You really have done a superb job on the saw. Can an old bit of cast iron look beautiful?? I think so. It must be a pleasure to use. :)

Dyson workshop blower - recycled vac.

That is a brilliant bit of recycling. I use my compressor for blasting stuff all the time, but the airstream is full of oil and water, so no use for cleaning dust from my computer and other electronics. Those are the things which need cleaned most.

    Cheap wood (mainly soft woods)

I do use recycled wood as much as possible. I really hate to see things wasted, especially old wood which tends to be better quality in many cases. I had a look in my area, but couldn't see any recycling centres like you have. Whenever I go to my local dump...they call it a recycling centre Ha...

    Battery charger help

I checked the part number. Seems to be available in a variety of output styles. One of which is a two wire with croc clips. Here, here and here are 'equivalent' devices. some may be far east clones without proper compliance.
