SawStop, stops on contact with skin is coming to Europe soon!

That was one of the problems as I recall, it was naturally white and couldn't be died any other colour. Before it fell apart at the end of the film.

    Itech scrollsaws

It looks like the Axminster "Hegner clone" in a different paint job. If so it's generally a fairly well regarded machine and there are not that many options in that mid range price point.

    Old pc update.

Yes that machine with the spec you posted is past the point of economic upgrade, after perhaps 10 years, 15 in a pinch, you reach the point where any meaningful upgrade means a new motherboard, CPU and memory (since they are so closely coupled) at which point you have to start prcing anew...

    TV advertising quality!

That's one that really does annoy me.. "It's Xero with an X..." Most companies that spent more than 5 minutes and 50p determining their branding stategy would have determined if you need to tell people how to spell your name so they can find you online you are already on to a loser.

    Thin drawers

It's the vertical space I see as being most troublesome, it's too narrow for drawers of any useful size and you would lose a good portion of the space with drawer sides and support even with 4mm ply let alone 12mm. My initial thought is general "leaning space" for flat items, in a general...

    Hegner Multicut 1 £70No

Interesting, a "multivitamin" scroll saw. 😁

Bandsaw blades- what to do with snapped ones

Tweezers are always one of the suggestions but it'll need a good amount of grinding to remove the teeth and shape, mostly it is hacksaw blades. I'd always keep a couple of lengths in raw form - how long depends on what you can easily store without it getting in the way - you never know when...

Opinions on a very small drill ?

There are plenty of right angle drills out there if this is a regular task. Amazon brought up links for models by Bosch, Makita, Milwaukee, Dewalt, Ryobi et al straight away e.g. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Bosch-PS11-102-12-Volt-Lithium-Ion-Capacity/dp/B00BD5G3UC

    Drill guides

There's a language toggle between German and English in the top right hand corner of the page. They don't ship to UK though, presumably too much paperwork post-Brexit.

New shed build - lining queries

I've just built a Forest Garden Beckwood shed, only 7x5ft as a mini home workshop. I'll do a full write up here in due course - I know I searched in vain for a reliable considered review from someone who had actually built it - but right now I'm still in the initial kitting out stage, i.e...

    Any Snap-on experts on here

Have you seen their new prices recently? It's within the last month they quoted me £40 for a bog standard pozi #2 screwdriver.

    Threat secured

Yeah that's nothing to do with the kerfuffle this morning. Something you use in Chrome is triggering it as you can see. My thoughts would be to think about what websites you visit, does any in particular trigger this? Next do you have any add ons installed? Finally have you accepted...

    Petrol Stations

Oil price shocks over the last 20 years should have bounced that out of anyone's mindset by now. It is not as if the situation will continue as normal until the last drop of oil anywhere is extracted, as existing fields are drained the supply drops and the follow up sources are less immediately...

    Impressive or what!

Indeed. Don't forget Chernobyl was a steam explosion. It's often described as a meltdown or similar in the more excitable media (the design was such it wasn't possible for it to melt down in any circumstances), but the real problem was too much heat and not enough cooling water.

    Petrol Stations

China did it for 40 years, they are now desperate to undo the results since they are facing a demographic time bomb that makes the baby boomers here in the West seem mild by comparison.

DELTA 2 Speed 16" Scroll Saw - Sevenoaks

Delta are supposed to be a good brand, @loftyhermes really rates them. This is a two speed model so not top of the range but hell, it's currently £20 with no bids and less than two days to go. Local pick up only from Sevenoaks. I might be tempted if it was nearer...

    Anti slip finish for decking

One thing I've seen locally is wire mesh stapled on top, seems to work really well. The local council used it on bridges etc making up a large cycle route project for the last Preston Guild. I was nervous at first but even wet and muddy it's still grippy, even on a road bike with 18mm wide slick...

    Most suitable glue

Have you tried wiping with a damp cloth after clamping but before the glue sets?

Does being right or lft-handed determine which way round a room you go when painting ?

I've heard this before but I'm not convinced it make any difference. I'm nominally right handed but tend to use a left handed style when screwdriving. The other explanation I've heard which strikes me as more credible is that it follows the shape of your hands - form your right hand in a...
