    What radius arris?

Do you even need a bit? A true Arris isn't rounded at all. Obviously you need something at the corner to prevent breakout, when I've needed similar in the past I've used an ROS across the corner for a tiny bevel. Perhaps a balsa plane?

How would you go about making something like this?

I suspect I was thinking along the same lines as akirk but hadn't realised the taper, it isn't apparent in the photos. A proper view of the fluting so we can see cross section would be helpful but fundamentally you need to decide on subtractive or additive construction, i.e starting from solid...

How to check your TV zapper is working.

I always associate that with that Noel Edmunds thing - Telly Addicts I think it was. Never heard of it outside of that. It's probably the kind of thing subject to regional variations and even forming part of each household's own "private" vocabulary.

    Anyone tried DIY copper electroplating?

I held off responding to this because I remembered I had some notes on this from a legendary model locomotive builder. Dug them out just now and they aren't as extensive as I remembered, the only takeaway I get from them is a very smooth supply is needed, he said to use batteries rather than a...

How to check your TV zapper is working.

Nice trick, thanks! Not something I want to do often but I'll remember this when it comes up.

    Saw bench!!

That's why you have start/run capacitors.

    Saw bench!!

I find myself checking all fingers are present and correct just viewing the photos. 😁

No, it doesn't do that on a fresh post either.

    Help MT2 stuck

I suspect that is mostly the robomoderator, some of the substitutions used do raise an eyebrow - "turnip" files is the usual one. In this case probably preceded by a typo. Perhaps L->F, that doesn't result in the usual spelling but it's a common enough variant it may be recognised in its own...

    How to make a round-bottomed, round-ended groove - without a router

I suspect I would mostly chisel it out, begin by cutting a V groove and slowly paring out from there bevel down. It's the kind of thing where 3mm or even finer chisels really are your friend. Switch to gouges when you are somewhere close but in my case they wouldn't be to hand so I'd probably do...

    The $17 microscope

@D_W I'm curious, what was it specifically you bought - can you link to it? Over lock down I treated myself to a semi-professional stereomicroscope I've been wanting for a few years - see pic - that money that usually goes down the pub has to go somewhere after all 😁. That set me back £80 but...

    Working from home

I've mentioned here before I used to be a home insurance claims handler... If that was an outright refusal it would not survive review by the ombudsman. There shouldn't be any issue with redecorating/drying/recarpeting etc costs. I can see issue with electrical work since the insurer will have...

What ideas have you had for reducing Electricity consumption

A standard LED will be somewhere around a couple of volts at 10mA or so. Likely driven from a 3.3V logic supply via a limiting resistor so 33mW for the pair. That comes to 0.289 units a year. Of course the losses in the power supply and even minimal circuitry to respond to the remote will dwarf...

What ideas have you had for reducing Electricity consumption

There are difficulties with replacements. LEDs are fundamentally incompatible with high temperature operation since semiconductors have inherent temperature limits. Can't immediately see a fundamental restriction for florescents but you couldn't use a compact fluorescent for the same reason -...

    Lectern

But she got overly excited one day and sold all the pigs to China. 😁

    Air brush

That's an external mix type. They're good for slightly heavier media since there's so much less to clog. Don't have direct experience of them but the paint is adjusted with the screw on the nozzle. I honestly don't know how low you can adjust the paint flow since adjustment is purely by moving...

Great until you have a leak or need to access the stopcocks for some other reason.

    Lectern

Don't worry about it. It's all on tick, it's your children and grandchildren that will pay for it.

    Air brush

I will warn immediately that the bulk of my experience is both fairly old and concerned applying colour to Airfix-style kits rather than any protective finish. I assume when you say airbrush you mean an internal mix type, with a needle, rather than the mini spray gun style "modeller's...

    Working in a small workshop

Since I note you're in the US I don't suppose we can take that as read. It's the space ship and time machine in the long running BBC series Doctor Who. Despite its abilities to travel through space and time when something is compared to the TARDIS the property generally alluded to is that it is...
