    Connecting 16amp p/t to supply

FWIW, I run my Startrite 352E which has a 16 amp plug off one of the fly leads you mentioned without any trouble. This is simply plugged in to a 13 amp socket. In my case, I'm working in a garage which has its own 13 amp ring main run in 2.5 mm cable which is connected to the consumer unit...

Replacing old window seals - aluminium double glazing.

Thanks Robin. That's a really helpful link. My daughter has sent off for the 10 Bubble Gasket Sample Pack. I'm sure there will be something from there that will fit, and we can order a supply of the right seal from that.

Replacing old window seals - aluminium double glazing.

My daughter has old aluminium double glazing. The seals are shot and the draughts coming through are horrendous. From the photos I've been sent, it looks like the outer layer is a fibrous brush type seal, and that someone has stuck some sticky back foam rubber seal over a slot where I presume a...

    Moles!

We have the same problem. I also agree that the electronic scarers are useless - in fact they seem to treat it like a "call to prayer" and new molehills pop up all around them. I heard that they don't like diesel so I stuffed some tissue paper soaked in heating oil down some of the holes and...

    Red Arrows

A couple of mine from 1975 at RAF Cranwell families day. Sadly we won't see any displays like this again! Note from the smoke trails how both aircraft have climbed to get to this crossover position at 360 kts (414 mph) - a closing sped of over 800 mph. That wingspan is just 22 ft (about...

    FINISHED.New pics. Media/library unit,floor,sashes,panelling

Blimey. are you trying to corner the market in MR MDF? :D Presumably a different brand of MDF as the colour is different? loks like that's going to be a nice room when painted out.

That should fit the bill nicely. Let's hope the customer does a decent paint job on it.

    anyone used/have one of these?

The link takes me to the Armorgard BH1080 Tuffbench 1080x750x820mm Folding Work Table at £217. http://www.ffx.co.uk/tools/product/Armo ... rk%20Table

    anyone used/have one of these?

That's expensive for what it is. And at 27kgs it weighs more than a full bag of cement. How far are you planning on lugging it? If I needed to be mobile I would find this to be a more attractive option. Or if you want something simple, I'm still using this one that I knocked up a few years...

    Expanding Circular Dining Table

So on each rail there are 2 blocks set in close proximity? Presumably there is some integral locking mechanism (other than gravity) that holds the block down on to each rail so that each segment doesn't overbalance when unsupported during expansion? Those don't look like standard under mounted...

Perfect sense thanks George. Many thanks for sharing.

    Expanding Circular Dining Table

Yep - me too ! :D Looking carefully at your interpretation, you get away with one fewer tier on your design than Scot Rumschlag does on his, and with considerably fewer moving parts, so I should imagine less to wear out, less friction in operation, and I suspect easier to get each segment to...

    Expanding Circular Dining Table

Thanks George. I'm just aching to try and build one of these for ages, but regretably we don't have a suitable space for an expanded table. There's also this one, but I think your solution is far more elegant.

    Expanding Circular Dining Table

Thanks George. That is Mega Impressive. Is the expansion mechanism anything like the one described here?

    COT WIP (mk2)

Thanks Steve. Plenty of info there to get my teeth in to. Not sure whether this is a "goer" as a project for me as I have so much else on, and my daughter feels that it is "bad luck" to get too much stuff in before the child is born, so we might end up reaching for our credit card instead a...

    COT WIP (mk2)

I'd be interested Steve, so why not keep it to open forum for the benefit of all? We have grandchild No.1 on order for Dec and we may need to do something about a cot ourselves. What about critical safety measurements like min and max spaces between bars etc? Any info you can share would be...

    Kitchen bench seat

This one I built earlier is probably more elaborate than you are anticipating building, but the underlying principals will be the same. You might get something from it.

Could you perhaps re-save the pdf full size in A4 format, and then just paste the separate pieces together?

+1. Might be able to help if we can see pics.

Now this might seem a silly question, but

But then you would be using expensive hot water for all the rinses as well, when normally the machine would use cold without heating it. The "cold fill" issue was what stopped us going fora solar thermal HW system. When we totted up what we needed hot water for, we had to discount the...
