    Entertainment Dresser

On the contrary Dan, whilst discussion of chisel sharpening and Triton routers has its place, let's not lose sight of the reason why we buy our routers and sharpen our chisels in the first place - i.e. to build stuff (unless you are a tool collector in which case there is no hope! :) ). BTW...

    International florists

Tim - when SWMBO wanted to send flowers to her aunt in Seattle she did a Google search for florists and then added the road and district in Seattle to the search. That threw up a list of Seattle florists online and she then phoned them to discuss terms, costs and delivery. When in doubt she...

    Xmas table

That's really nice Pete - working with reclaimed timber is always an adventure! The stretchers look great but are they just there for aesthetic purposes or are they really needed?

    Scheppach TS2010 Dimensions?

Danny - the height is with the saw mounted on the base. If the dimensions are just for storage the power cable can be unplugged giving a depth of 74cms from the back edge of the socket to the front of the rise and fall wheel. HTH

    Scheppach TS2010 Dimensions?

Hi Danny - I have the 2010 and have been pretty pleased with it. I've included some dimensions below but it is not as simple as it sounds as you will see. Height (inc blade guard) 99.5 cms. but if you are going to connect a dust extractor to the crown guard you will need to allow 113...

Chest of drawers project. For cutlery

Nice one Dave. Those inserts must have been a real pain to cut accurately. I will confess that the finsh is not entirely to my taste, but that is an entirely subjective viewpoint and I guess is the responsibility of the customer.

    Applying wax to oak

Welcome Danmac. After loads of questions here I have used Patina on an oak table and so far it has been pretty much bullet-proof. Easy to apply - I will definitely be using it again. No problems with water stains etc with mugs of tea or wet wine glasses.

    Maths help needed please

There you are Roger - a real mathematical answer! My rule of thumb got within 1/20th of a degree so it aint all that bad. Paul - you are using similar logic to the "1 in 60 rule" which is good up to about 10 degrees. i.e. a fall of 10cms in 60 cms gives an angle of about 10...

    Maths help needed please

Roger - the "1 in 60 rule" says that a 1cm drop in 60cms is 1 degree. 100cm/60cm x 1 cm = 1.67 cms ( or 16.7 mm), so a fall of 18 mm in 1 meter is going to be just over 1 degree - i.e. about 1.08 degrees. Of course if you want a REAL mathematical calc you'll need to ask someone with a...

    TV corner stand - Completed!

Really enjoying this thread Robert. I particularly like the way you have bought it to life with all the WIP piccies - and lots of great ideas that I can apply to my own TV corner unit that is being formulated in my minds eye at the moment. Keep them coming please! BTW - it looks like...

37 MPG SOUNDS RIGHT TO YOU? OR I'M PARANOID?

I'd agree with this - and so does "Honest John" in the Saturday Telegraph - a/c is more economical than an open window at speed. I have a 2.0 VW Golf TDi (the 140 bhp) and over the last 4000 miles it's returned an average of 52.3 mpg, and if I'm really careful can get close to 60 mpg on a...

    I'm officially a Plank

Byron - you've still had a better week than Alastair Darling or Steve McLaren (or maybe not, given that he's been paid £2.5m as a payoff. I'd happily fail for half that!)

    Pendant WIP

Pete - thanks for the WIP piccies. All is now clear. I feel some Xmas pressies coming on!

    Digital cameras - again!

This is a useful site for shortlisting cameras. http://www.imaging-resource.com/WB/WB.HTM I use a Sony DSC-H2 which has 6mp and a 12x optical zoom. A little bulky but that's the price to pay for the zoom facility I wanted to shoot wildlife and to get in close without stuffing a camera up...

    Jokes

Bill and Fred are keen golfers, both aged over 90. One day Bill complains to Fred " I can hit the ball fine, but with my eyesight I can't see where it has gone. Can you watch to see where it goes?" So Bill addresses the ball and drives it nicely down the fairway. "Did you see where it...
