    inframe kitchen hinges

Guys - here's a useful guide to the hinges in the Hettich Sensys range. Not cheap but fantastic quality. It doesn't make easy reading but they cater for overlay, half overlay and inset doors. There is a section that applies to half-overlay doors on page 19. Your situation is also made...

    inframe kitchen hinges

Lance - I think you will need the CLIP TOP STANDARD HINGE 71B3750 if you are hanging doors inset in to a face frame with the raised base plate already recommended.

    Ten Myths of DAB

Where we live in S.Devon, about 10 miles out of Plymouth, there is NO DAB reception whatsoever. We borrowed our son's DAB and find it unusable. It's beginning to look like we'll have to go down the internet radio route if we want to listen to the radio at home, and will have to stop listening to...

Which b-saw blade and which supplier?

+ another for Tuffsaws. The combination of service, advice and price means that I never even bother considering a different source.

    Festool and Makita Guide rails

I've just got a pair of Makita rail clamps for my Fessie guide rails. They don't fit straight out of the package because there is a slight shoulder at the end of the clamp that fouls the slot. 5 mins with a file resolved the problem and now the Makita clamps fit the fessie rail just fine for...

    Amazon bargain finder

Just picked up this tip on money saving expert. It's a link to finding bargains on Amazon. In amongst the trash there are some good deals and if you take a free trial of Amazon prime there is still time to get stuff before Xmas. Don't forget to cancel the free trial before the month is up tho'...

    silly one liners

Someone told me that the biggest problem facing the NHS is Holby City. That's what a nurse told me - but on reflection it could have been "obesity" - she was speaking through a mouthful of cake!

Tulipwood, beech, or "summat else" for a face frame kitchen?

Concensus here and in another place is :- Beech - 2 tulipwood - 1 Redwood - 1 Hardly overwhelming support for any of them. :D Looks like it's not a critical decision - I'll be placing my order for a timber of my choice at midday tomorrow.

Tulipwood, beech, or "summat else" for a face frame kitchen?

If you were making a faceframe kitchen for your own home, with a painted finish, what would you use - tulipwood, unsteamed beech or steamed beech? What advantages does steamed beech have over unsteamed? Or would you use something else entirely if this was for your own use and not a commercial...

    Solar Electricity generation

We have 17 Sanyo monocrystalline panels giving just a smidgin short of 4kw. Our roof faces 10 deg west of south and there is no shade. In the first year (Oct 2011 to Oct 2012) we generated 4451 kwh which is over 10% more than the official estimate, and which paid us just over £2,000 in FIT and...

Still looks like they could be what I first thought they were based on some of the inhabitants down our way!

    For Pun Lovers everywhere

When we flooded the sewers overflowed and the news man said that we were literally swimming in sewage, but in reality we were just going through the motions.

Nomination for the 2012 Darwin awards

Don't bank on it. 30 years ago I used to teach hang gliding for a living and some people used to phone up and when they found out how much it cost they said that they'd give it a try on their own and then if they liked it they would book up for lessons.

    Rome

Have a wander through "The Forum". It was the centre of the known world for centuries. If you want a quiter day go out to Ostea - the old Roman Port at the entrance to the Tiber. If you've ever been to Pompeii it's a bit like that but without the crowds. It's a cheap train ride from...

    Walnut and painted WIP

Only just found this thread and read it through from beginning to end. Just like a good novel I couldn't put it down. Stunning work Jon and so much to learn from the copious detail in the photos. Really inspiring. Thanks so much for posting. Can you be a little more specific with regard to...

    Under Floor Heating

Anything involving pumped concrete costs a fortune. Not only do you have the cost of the materials, but also the costs of cleaning the pump and hose afterwards. For this job there was nothing special about the screed - just a simple 4:1 mix done in a simple portable mixer. This was laid by our...

    Under Floor Heating

Flow from the boiler is around 65 deg, but the zone regulating unit/pump (ZRU) drops this down to a lower temperature in the 40 - 60 deg range before it enters the UFH pipework. I'm finding by trial and error that anything more than 45 degrees and the room temperature overshoots that selected...

    Oak Windows Finishing advice

Welcome to the forum Caldinarod. I wish you luck with Owatrol. However, comparing a test piece of oak with Owatrol finished teak, it seemed to protect the teak far better than the oak. I think oak is particularly difficult. In fact Sikkens say in some of their technical material that...
