I have 20 litres of Rye oil brand Danish Oil and to date no issues and only the mandatory H&S warnings.

I have a need for a pocket hole jig, is it preferable to biscuits in general use. If so which one is recommended and why. Or do I stick with biscuits.

Go for a used set up you usually get all the little extras that eat your budget. Keep sharpening simple with a slow grinder and a jig. Find a local turner a go pay a visit we are generally a friendly bunch.

Sounds like a lot of faffage to me when there are many lathes within your budget albeit second hand. Get a ready to go package and put the effort into learning the dark art itself.

I use Yorkshire grit a lot, I have found it to be a great addition to finishing my resin and burr spheres and is easy to apply and gives a great finish with no other burnishing needed.

I personally would go for the biggest chuck, ensure you can change the back plate then if you upgrade your lathe at a later date you can just change said plate and use on another lathe.

I got fed up with loosing part used glues especially ca which I buy in bulk. part opened bottles seemed to go off very quickly. Since adopting this for sealed and part used pots I have not had to bin a single one. Works for me.

Neither the CA or PU actually freezes solid I have had CA in the freezer for over a year and is till good as when first opened.
