    NUTOOL NTL900

1 x 1/8 would be my guess as it was the base for the Axminster and many other clones, Try the AWGB forum and see if there is anyone local to you who can pop over with chuck or similar to try. I think the Tool Post has a list of lathes and thread sizes on their chuck page?

    Ford 1.6TDCI turbo fault

The OP said it was listed as an advisory previously and wondered how that reflected on the MOT, not on the morality of the tester

    Ford 1.6TDCI turbo fault

EGR and DPF are the usual things to cause problems due to emission failure, to me a turbo either works or it doesn't, not sure how it would effect a MOT though

    SCHEPPACH BENCH SAW

Very easy, I took the old carriage off, then placed a lockable castor in each corner, holes were already there so no drilling. I can now move it with a finger tip, and rock solid with the castors locked.

    cutting metal on wood bandsaw.

Ok , well I managed to win a nice little Axminster metal bandsaw, required a little clean up and fettling but is now a proper saw. Cuts very accurately and is much quieter and cleaner than the chop saw and abrasive blade, just need a bigger workshop now........

    Laying plywood on concrete

I had an earth floor in my workshop and laid a new concrete one with correct dpm, and reinforcing mesh, it wasn't hard or expensive and made a world of difference but I wouldn't consider covering with anything else for the reasons as above. Why not use a quality self leveling compound and build...

First post and mobile base question

I have a Scheppach BS4010 which came with a factory base which could raise or lower for moving. I dumped this as it was very unstable, bolted lockable castors on each corner and never looked back, glides like on ice and very stable when locked. So if anyone needs a BS$)!) factory wheel...

    cutting metal on wood bandsaw.

Been looking into it, I would need a 30:1 reduction gear box, to lower the speed to a realistic level, then as stated problems with swarf and chips will cause damage. Think I will stick to what I know until a cheap portable metal bandsaw falls in my lap !!
