    Which 1/2 router? My first!

It may depend on what you inteded use is - table, free hand etc. I have a Bosch and cant fault it. But as said you will get many recomendations. Some good deals can be had second hand as sometimes they are too big for people to use or control.

    Dust cyclone set up

I used a seperator type bin lid on top of a 200 litre plastic tank as I was unable to find a 4" cyclone reasonably priced, I think the bin lid was about £20. Since fitting it I have not yet had to empty the extractor bag as all the large debis goes into the bin. Works far better than O though...

I turned some odds and ends in nylon and acetal when I made my Vacuum chuck system, I found carbide tools nice to use on it, and a negative rake scraper can be handy to if it is very hard. http://www.awgb.co.uk/awgbforum/index.p ... l#msg44455

    Hollowing tool recommendation please

Very much depends on your abilities, preferences and budget. I use the Lyle JAMIESON system, easy to use just a finger to control, I have used many other tools and systems over the years and have found this the best by far. Perhaps a visit to your local club or group I am sure there will be as...

    Advice on seasoning wood

Depends on what you want to turn, you could part turn and leave to dry in shavings and a paper bag. If you leave them as they are they just will not dry, boards take around 1 year per inch of thickness to dry. I would cut into bowl blanks, seal with wax or similar and leave a year or two, they...
