(Yet!) another Wadkin 10AGS restoration thread

Thank you. Yes, it came complete with the pressed steel extension table, long fence rails and the earlier style rip fence. All removed to facilitate grappling with it!

For Sale Wadkin AGS10" innards; Finally added pictures

Would you happen to have either the angle gauge (see photo), or a three belt spindle pulley? Appreciate it’s a long shot! Thanks.

(Yet!) another Wadkin 10AGS restoration thread

So, having removed the top and delved a little deeper, it’s not bad. The restricted blade travel was nothing more than sawdust accumulated in the riving knife mounting plate slots. The spindle has evidently been overhauled at some point because the bearings are smooth but it has a fairly new...

(Yet!) another Wadkin 10AGS restoration thread

Afternoon all, After a couple of false starts, I’m delighted to finally have taken delivery of a lovely, unmolested single-phase 10AGS, complete with original manual dating back to 1967 if my research is correct. It was an inauspicious start, impromptu roadworks blocked access to the end of the...

    Found WANTED: Wadkin 12AGS

Per title, I’m looking for a Wadkin 12AGS. Must have cast iron extension tables and would prefer the later style rip fence but anything considered. Thanks.

    Wrist watch recommendations

Another Casio G-Shock wearer here, though a simple, retro variant, the DW-5600. It’s survived multiple house renovation projects, years of paragliding and mountaineering abuse and is still going strong. I was also treated to a Bremont for a notable birthday - I love the watch and company...

    Wadkin 10 AGS "Restoration"

I would be inclined to replace the two bolts to ensure you can achieve the desired torque without risking damage to the corresponding female threads. As others have said, the chipped gear teeth will be fine, just carefully dress off any high spots with a needle file. Good luck!

    End of an era

I’m relatively new to the forum and your business Peter but some of your DVDs landed on the doormat this morning. I’m planning my own second career right now so it would be hypocritical to comment on your decision. I know the course will be missed but I wish you all the very best with your...

    Sedgwick or axminster?

Sedgwick all the way. I’m confident you will get to the bottom of your fence frustrations and that will leave you with a solid, reliable and durable machine that will outlive any of the SE Asia clones.

    Sedgwick or axminster?

Stopped watching that after 3secs, would have been quicker if I didn’t have sausage fingers... Absolute shocker!

    Small Workshop Vacuum

I’ve got the Numatic NVD750 dual motor, dual port machine from Axminster. Brilliant piece of kit for a single-garage size hobbyists workshop. With a short hose, it can easily keep a bandsaw dust-free and will keep up with a PT too, providing you’re willing to empty it regularly. I had been...

    Mid range/budget chisels

Another vote for Sheffield-made Marples Splitproof (yellow and red) chisels. They come up for sale quite regularly and are great quality. I’ve also got a couple of the newer Irwin Marples chisels made in the Far East and they are fine too, not as bad as many would make out. I treated myself to...

Should I bother converting Wadkin AGS 10 to single phase?

Hi Andy, Appreciate this is an old thread and your thinking may have moved on but I would be interested in your AGS if you decide to sell it. Cheers, Andy
