Thinking of pulling the trigger on a Clifton 5 1/2

I have the 5 1/2 and jointer, both are beautiful to work with, had an issue with my jointer and they were very quick to remedy. What i will say though is I also have a Quanshang 5 1/2, had to spend a while longer honing the blade but at about 1/2 the price it is quite possibly as good, only...

Bow in sheet after ripping on panel saw

To be honest i am not sure on that, ours runs the full length and i dont have experience with it not being that way, may be worth a try. Also ours is level to a smidge under on the height. Have you seen DoctorBobs reply, he explains it better than me on pressure and lifting points

Bow in sheet after ripping on panel saw

I have had this problem too, what has seemed to work for me is putting downward pressure on the board. I found that the biggest issue was with 8*4 sheets and cutting thin rips. The left hand bottom corner would sag under weight lifting the board slightly. Hope this helps Sean.

Maple box - question about splines

Lovely box, well done sir. Not sure if its the correct way or not but in the past i have filled the small gaps by sanding a piece of the spline timber, little bit of similar coloured wax into tiny bits, very small amount of glue and boiling water, mixed it all up into a paste then filled the...
