    Severance negotiations

I would object to the meeting until you have found a suitable representative. I believe you have a right to that. I may be wrong but I think you are allowed to ask what the meeting is about and therefore prepare

Just to stir the pot, has anyone noticed...

can't recall what happened in the 90s but the drop from 2000 - 2010 nicely coincided with the with the fact that as a country we were skint when Labour left office! I would also note the last spike has a lot to do with Covid ? Before anyone asks I think the whole political system is corrupt...

    Natural Gas Futures

The way I understand it they are regulated by ofgem, not the FCA. It is like the Wild West. Things are changing but at a ridiculously slow pace as ever

    Electric vehicles

A good friend of mine has an interest in a car business and he has similar thoughts, here is what he said to me With new electric cars being offered at 0% APR and big dealer contribs ( Polestar £7k) plus extras free/heavy discount, like service plans. And second hand Elec car prices in free...

    Banquette seating with radiator behind?

If it helps any I am about to do similar at home. What we have decided is to do away with our rad and replace in the banquette a plinth heater and on the opposite wall an electric rad, was far cheaper than having the floor up, pipes added etc and still gives us the flexibility

    Floating bed project

How deep is your mattress ? Reason I ask is I made something similar some years ago at the bequest of the boss and the mattress sat inside by 100mm, think it lasted 6 months before I had to take it apart and have a re jig as changing the sheets was a nightmare especially if the mattress is...

Anyone got experience of insulated roof panels?

I used them for my workshop at home, approx 5m span, went with from memory 180mm thick panels. If I ever build another would definitely use again and would most likely make the whole thing from them. I will try and dig out where I sourced them from, sure it was a guy on eBay that buys up slight...

    Open Access workshop

You could contact Uni spray/ Uni boards they are over by the big Toomey car centre in Basildon area, you can hire space there if it is available, failing that they will supply and cut boards for you if you give them dimensions, very reasonable too. They do not as far as I am aware have a lathe...

The joys of electric car ownership!

    Inflation

We are on holiday at the moment in Spain, her indoors likes super seedy bread, it’s about 20p cheaper here for a loaf of hovis than at home! The answer I believe is yes there is a huge amount of profiteering going on, I believe the government have tried to intervene as all the major supermarkets...

Best wood for this project? (Advice needed)

Ah got it now, get what you mean about the colours, also Valchromat wouldn't give you that change as the boards are pretty constant all the way through unless they were painted before hand to get the contrast, it would however eradicate the seen layers of ply on the backs Sorry don't really know...

Best wood for this project? (Advice needed)

Hi Natalie, I’m not sure what you mean by round the backs on a lathe? But maybe an option would be Valchromat boards, do about a dozen different colours and is consistent through the core of the board, then maybe disc/belt sand the backs. Very easy to finish I have used both PU and Wax oils

    Bi-folding Wardrobes Doors?

Only thing I would add are infills left and right, or just right just so I could use a longer fixing into the hinge on the carcass side. I once had an issue with a bi-fold door in a kitchen and ended up replacing the cabinet adding a deeper infill to allow for a more solid fixing

    Traditional Bed frame

Just used similar hardware on a floating bed, normally prefer M&T joinery but this had some rather expensive upholstery on it and didn't want to get glue all over the place, very happy with how they perform

    A birch ply alternative found?

If you are happy with bb/bb grade if you try J Guard and sons or Lathams they have stock, well they did a few weeks ago. I had to make a quite large run of cabinets in ply, found the poplar a little soft, the grade I used does have plugs to one side but just made sure that was not seen.
