Be mindful of the gap between the t and g boards, they will swell quite a lot when they get wet. Nice gates though!

Thanks for the kind words re the box. I normally build up several coats of oil on walnut until I get a sheen, then wax on top. This gives a nice tactile finish with a certain amount of reflection but not a high reflective French polish type surface which I'm not keen on and I don't think it...

Fantastic work. I would be paranoid about wood movement and splitting on those end grain "L" pieces on the box but I'm sure you've made it to allow for some movement.

There could be lettering on both sides or I could put "thescriber.co.uk" below the pencil holder which wouldn't be so obvious but would be visible enough to read. Would "the-scriber.co.uk" be better or am I over thinking it?
