Help please- Creusen grinder humms but won’t spin

Seller has refunded which is great, also said no need to return as they’ll just bin it. So keen to carry on trying to get it going. Picked up a second hand creusen bench grinder. Apparently left the seller working fine, but on arrival and plugging it in it just humms The switch seems to work - the contactor stays in when it’s powered and not when it isn’t. Thought it might be the capacitor so ordered a spare with the...

Where and what wood to buy?

Welcome! Chopping board - beech or sycamore are good choices - I’d avoid ring porous woods like oak and ash Mallet - beech, ash, or find an old bowls ball - typically Lignum Vitae Birdhouse - larch is pretty durable outside Workbench - whatever works out cheapest - softwood fine for the frame...

Refelt or other cover my 8 x 16 shed roof?

I’m a convert to rubber roofing too- 8x16 will be weighty though- and being able to walk on the roof to roll it out will be pretty unavoidable Once done will be much better than felt
