    Dust Bong?

Similar concept to this But using a Mardon extractor unit designed for metal dust and with flame retardant filters If you’re using it for wood dust I don’t see why you need the water element to cool sparks and a simple cyclone would be the way to go

    Dust Bong?

I’m in the process of putting one together for my linisher to catch the metal sparks before they hit the filters. Seems fairly simple idea, am intrigued by how much suction I’ll lose. Commercial spark arrestors are expensive

Broadband router needed with hard wired mains into

I only mentioned PoE as it shows the low power needed to run an AP, wasn’t suggesting cabling. If PoE can give enough power then a lighting circuit should be able to.

Broadband router needed with hard wired mains into

I use ubiquiti access points and use power over Ethernet. They need 6.5w max per the spec so it seems feasible to do what you want, no idea how though

Bandsaw guides - why is the rear one side mounted?

Flat face on rear thrust bearing gives more contact area. Worth taking them ut and making sure they’re running smoothly and no grooves in them that would catch. 25000 psi is ok for m42 blades, but plain carbon steel typically recommended to run at 12000.

    Greasing motor bearings

They’re the type I have on my bandsaw and work with a sealey grease gun. never sure how much grease bearings need though?

    HELP discontinued part

If record have a design document the top of the table would be straight forward, and an aftermarket fence. The trunnions to attach the table would be harder to knock up but with a drawing could be laser cut. Your starting to spend £100s to fix it though- a second hand bandsaw may work out the...

    Rage and Incra

Making your own mitre sled could be a cheaper approach. also don’t expect perfect mitres off a table saw - they’re useful to dimension but for finishing cuts a shootingboard will let you tune them. If you have the money for the incra kit and you just make picture frames take a look for a used...

    Shoulder plane iron

The iron will be pretty straightforward for someone with the kit. O1 works easily and will give a good iron.

Making a New bandsaw mouth piece, aka wish I had a lathe

The mouth insert on my bandsaw was getting worn so time to make a new one. Without a lathe I managed to find someone selling an offcut on eBay the right size and set about sawing a slice off the end the mitre pusher that Startrite made for these saws can in handy. Rested the cylinder in a v...

Speeding up sanding process (seeking advice)

Out of interest how much grunt does one have? I always think of the small drum sanders as for finishing components already dimensioned. Would one level off an uneven surface too?

Speeding up sanding process (seeking advice)

They’re simple machines so should be fine 2nd hand. New they cost a fortune, and due to the move to wide belt sanders they’re relatively cheap used as need an operator to use them rather than just load and leave. If I had the space I’d have one. T11 are the same as dewalt and Elu before that...

    Mould growth in garage?

Depends where the damp is coming from- through damp walls, a damp floor, or through doors etc. Guttering to keep the walls dry, drainage around the walls, well fitted doors will all help. Once the structure is dry, air flow will help with condensation issues. insulation will help but only once...

Speeding up sanding process (seeking advice)

Pad sanders are much cheaper than large belt sanders and will cover the area. Something like this https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Dankaert-Pad-Sander-800-Vat-/154017895781?_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49292 the festool random orbit will be much slower than using a rites orhand held belt sander. Makita...

    Strange Request

Sounds like you’ve had some offers already. Worth reading the notes here to help meet the rules for sending the timber. Sounds like slicing 1.5mm veneers may be the easiest way. https://clearit.ca/canadian-customs-broker-blog/importing-wood-into-canada/
