    Help MT2 stuck

Good you have the schematics, hopefully shock will shift it. A non marking hammer hitting round the shaft should help loosen

Resources on drawing furniture by hand

Unless I’m losing my memory, which is possible, you used to be able to buy isometric projection paper which made sketching in proportion easier for quick planning before getting the drawing board out to do it properly

    Sizing an Axe handle

A nice exercise with a drawknife to make one from some suitably grained ash

Tormek T4 or is it overkill for my needs?

If you’re anywhere near Cardiff you could bring them over and try mine to see if you get on with it. Otherwise a lot of Axminster stores have them set up and would let you try before you buy. The initial sharpen takes the longest but once done is easy enough to touch up

best type of waterstone to sharpen V11 plane blade

The stones you have bar the king would all work well, I’ve used choseras on more abrasion resistant steels with good results, and diamond cuts anything. The kings would be slow going but work in a pinch- with the other options you have though I’d veer away.

    Waterstone sharpening station

Kitchen gastronorm tubs and a sink bridge gives a contained solution that is neat and can be used with soakers. I just use a canteen style tray and then let the stones air dry before going away in a filing drawer cab from ikea. Re choseras if you soak them the magnesia binder softens and you get...

DIY Burnisher for sharpening a Card Scraper

You can get carbide rod cheaply and easy enough to set in a handle. Otherwise a decent drill shank should work well enough

    Who makes one of these?

Stuff coming off cnc is typically pretty good from my experience

    Ts55 rebq intermittent starting

Loose connection somewhere - have you got a different plugit cord you could try?

    Who makes one of these?

Similar would be straight forward to make from plastic or something like tufnol with a router. If careful aluminium can also be cut with a router, or could be done with a drill hacksaw and file. Otherwise it’s exactly the sort of stuff coming on the slow boat from China from AliExpress/Banggood etc

Criticizing Your Own Hand Work - a Knife in this case

Don’t forget most butchers will use multiple different grips and it should work in each one- this is where classic handle shapes have become classic for a reason. For knives on boards a pinch grip is almost defacto, the “how to buy a chef knife” facts peddled in online articles are largely...

    FTAGH Festool Systainer

Neat containerised storage that means can keep the tools and accessories together. They have a standardised footprint that locks together for stacking and transporting. Not just for festool kit, I have one with a welder, rods, leads etc all in. Means it doesn’t get covered in dust and I don’t...

Criticizing Your Own Hand Work - a Knife in this case

Don’t forget texture is your friend with handles, especially for butchery where you want a good grip. I ended up dimpling the ones I made for my butcher with a carbide burr Depends who you’re making for and what you’re aiming for though. I’ve made a lot of kitchen knives and there are nuances...

    Chopping board wood

General rule of thumb is trees that produce edible fruit or nuts

    Chopping board wood

As above, closed grain and tight pores. Very hard woods are no good for knife edges, and very soft wears too quickly, hence maple, beech, sycamore being ideal. I seem to remember palmira having quite large pores and being a bit splintery, but may be mixing up my memories

    A Little help please

Any wonk or wiggle in the rest will be annoying to anyone using them, I’d go epoxy, I can’t see a screw to stand up to use especially if the feet are getting knocked off at the moment

    Dirty Pro Bandsaw Tyre Replacement

New proper tires are going to be over £50 all in e.g. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/352316322696 Worth it for a high end saw but in this case I’d be trying to keep the repair cost low.
