Band saw takes up more room than a RAS for me as a RAS can go along a wall. Chainsaw cuts are not an option. Handling the timber is not a big issue. Slide in and cut
I do as a rule too but I’m thinking of rollers and a reasonable size table to cut these to length. I currently use a handheld circular saw which does the job (granted I have to flip over) but I’d love to be able to just cut these to length using a cross cut/radial arm saw
I’m toying with the idea of getting a radial arm saw that will cut 6” x 6”. The only problem being it needs to be 240v not 3 phase. I also don’t want to spend a fortune. Is anyone aware of any that exist?
thanks in advance
Thank you. You’ve answered exactly as I thought to be honest. I do them free hand with a 9” circular saw now which works well. Chop saw is fine but the 6”x6” oak is hard to move along a few mm at a time. It just popped into my head the other night and I thought I’d ask about the track saw
Hi. My question is could a track saw be used for cutting shoulders on 6”x6” timber? Let’s say I had 2 pieces of timber together - so 12” wide now, could I clamp the track saw to this to cut the shoulders? Thanks in advance
Has anyone got any recommendations for a 100mm (4”) belt sander? I currently have the Makita one which has served me well but it gets heavy use with rough sandpaper. Any recommendations appreciated but needs to be 4” at least and got to be a belt sander
Morning. Any recommendations for a good router table. 1/2 router.
I haven’t got the time or interest to make my own so I just want to buy A good one.
thanks in advance
I have a Makita 18v multi tool. Like has already been mentioned it’s an Allen key to change the blade. The Allen key is held on the machine but it vibrates off. Invaluable tool for things nothing else will do but very noisy.
