How would you rate the UK's handling of this pandemic?

A huge amount of elderly people are relied upon to administer the covid injections too..... but I suppose you will refuse to have it given to you by someone that is over the age of death in this country? Right?

How would you rate the UK's handling of this pandemic?

I have found, for what it's worth, that younger people have tended to be rather blase about covid 19. Many would rather believe the stuff from disinformation sites. hence the anti vaccination support. To actually have a mind set which indicates they don't trust the establishment is a worrying...

And while your at it they might as well have the plug pulled on their life support. ? If your going to "Think It", you might as well do it properly .

How would you rate the UK's handling of this pandemic?

Its no good getting upset. The situation IMO is being handled not in an individual country level, but globally. To understand this you need to look at every country. Each one using the exact same format, which indicates that the strategy was worked out long before the pandemic hit. There are...

    Axminster Customer Service

I think the biggest gripe I have is not the customer service but the Axminster tools brochure. 20 years ago I would fall asleep in bed with it weighting my chest down. Like having a couple of bricks on top of you. They had everything in that catalogue and you didn't need to look anywhere else...

How would you rate the UK's handling of this pandemic?

spot on. I think Boris has done a good job. The outcome is in the public's hands. They know far more than anybody sat behind a key board complaining and moaning. Anybody who runs a business knows how difficult it is to please everyone. Boris didn't want to put folk under stringent rules and was...

    China

The thing is university top line sociology lecturers knock out 100,000 a year!!!! Good money when your in a subject that makes you look at things yet do nothing about your findings and observations?

    China

Its only as you Get older you can reflect back. At the time you are so entrenched with doing the best you can at work to keep the mortgage paid and the kids and Mrs in food, cloths and water. Oh if it was only so simple. My biggest gripe is not realising there are two world's for kids today. The...

    China

So aware they disagree that Covid 19 is real, they are invincible, and the vaccine is to inject us all with chips. But that's getting off topic I'm afraid

    China

I posted a few days ago for recommendations for machinery service engineers but raised no replies. I'd like to update what's gone on since then. I contacted three companies for advice. They were all woodworking machinery engineers and each told the same story that their work was embedded in the...

    At some point....

I've got to the point where doing repairs.....crawling about on my hands and knees, trying to lower a heavy motor to change the capacitor then trying to lift it back into position are just not physically possible. so I'm looking for a repair engineer for planer thicknesser. I've searched the...

    Changing Times

You only have to look at the Boeing 737 max engine being designed too low to see big goolies happen today. And this got through to full blown production because someone forgot the basics.

    Changing Times

During the 70s I worked for a while with moben kitchens...now defunked I think. Salesmen would knock doors from leads and cold calls. If they were lucky they would sit and draw out a plan and measure up for the kitchen giving a price. If they converted to sales the drawings were checked and an...

    Changing Times

A few years ago I visited the Birmingham Exhibition Centre to see the professional woodworking machinery exhibition. I stood in awe as a chap loaded a block of wood into a machine that milled, drilled and machined a delicate butterfly that was unbelievably thin section and detailed. It changed...

    Planer/thicknesser advice

Why but second hand? If a newbie has never used a machine before would it not be better buying new and getting the supplier to instruct on how to use the machine.? A couple of companies spring to mind. That way they know the machine will work. It has a guarantee and he knows how to use it.

    Changing Times

Hello everyone Over the years I've dipped in and out of the forum. I'm cracking 70 years old now but am still enjoying the smile on folks faces when I've made something for them. One thing I have noted over time is how the internet forums today have slowed in the volume of traffic that used to...

Could someone nice check my m/tenon dimensions?

The OP doesn't say what sort of bench this is or what he is making it from? If its for his greenhouse plants to sit on its fine, If its for a work bench that's different. One of the problems is making the bench too light so that it ends up walking round the shop. I'd be inclined to increase the...

    Out door wood preservatives.

Thankyou for your reply. I have been looking at some of the outdoor finishes on sale. Some time ago I had a cheap teak type table that I oiled, but I wasn't impressed. The initial finish looked great but after a couple of summers and winters outside they started to retain a dark pigment, as if...
