    The Maskery approach

I think it's always been there. You see something and it sort of makes you think the things you make will be so much better somehow. It will speed things up, when in fact it does neither. Then there's the time you take to make it, and the material cost...... Sod it, I'll buy it! Then you wait in...

    Glue Bot

How do you rate these glue dispensers? My experience has not been good. I received a set as a present. At first I thought they were fine but as time went on I found myself clearing the nozzle more and more as the blue wouldn't come out. Then the top ceases on the large bottle and I ended up...

How would you rate the UK's handling of this pandemic?

I think you put that very well Bob, hit the nail on the head. I think posts like this make a more healthy forum.

Won't somebody think of "young people"? (Edit: and No, older people aren't "to blame")

If the truth hurts , what is the truth? Enlighten us all.

Won't somebody think of "young people"? (Edit: and No, older people aren't "to blame")

You said that Mechanisation is cheaper. I was pointing out that in some areas it isn't. Irrespective of prices in Budapest for a beer.... and in Scotland last year the predominant race picking Strawberries were the Scots and English themselves.

I'm afraid if that's the way you see things its very sad. But everyone to his opinion...right? I'm out.

And in China. People are cheaper. And in the food industry where output/ speed to feed an over populated planet is required primarily. And in Farming where immigrant workers pick the produce. The main driver for mechanisation is greater profit.

I agree on most of your comments. I can only hope this Power House of the North concept will come to fruition. At the moment Asia pumps out all the muck from their foundries while we all turn a blind eye. It will be interesting to see how they will tackle the raw material conversion vrs...

Won't somebody think of "young people"? (Edit: and No, older people aren't "to blame")

It does disturb me with replies like this to a post that offers maybe a different approach. On every point you have a negative response. Because you have a fixed view of how you see things maybe and don't wish to change that view? Yet you bring no alternative suggestions? It's as it is and...

And that's your view which I respect, but I don't agree with it either. Today's people may not not be so lucky as you were, which is one of the reasons for so much hostility with older people. PS I said you might think its a load of rubbish near the end.

Observations I find it difficult to define, YOUNG today. All I can see is opportunity at every turn. Maybe that's because I'm old? The guidance isn't there today I will say that. Maybe that's the problem enlightenment? But will they listen? Be blowed if I'd pay uni fees and then spend it in...

    how to test a motor

With so many house fires I would shy away from even tackling a job like this. If you do anything that causes a fire not only could it cause damage and endanger life it could also invalidate home insurance. Maybe going down the route of pricing a local electrician that gives a certificate for...

    Interesting response from Screwfix

As for screw fix losing stuff... I put a pencil down then can't find it.... Then I find it and can't seem to locate my square.... Wife comes in with a brew and says what's up? I can't find my ear protectors! Are they the black things hung round your kneck? And....I've more than once put my boxer...

    Interesting response from Screwfix

I wondered when the penny would drop. It's been like this for months Record, Charnwood, Axminster....etc. No stock of plane r thicknessers. Scott and Sergeant too. Apparently container shipment prices have gone through the roof so expect large price increases in all shipped in machinery. I...

    Axminster price increasing

Just been reading about a lighting company that buy from China. Container prices increased from £1800 to £10,000. If this is true for all container shipments machinery prices will go through the roof. Anyone like to confirm this?

How would you rate the UK's handling of this pandemic?

Bob I didn't say they were. I said "A lot of elderly people were relied on to administer the injections" Which retired nurses doctors etc returning to help out have done. To which Selwyn replied about the age of 82..... If he wants to interpret what was written as something he just concocted to...

How would you rate the UK's handling of this pandemic?

I would probably agree with looking at the long term affects but for the fact that lockdown is global. Every country will suffer the same financial and economic hardship. Every child that has lost education time will be in the same boat globally. You talk about thinking about the longer term...
