    Should you speak the truth?

Morning all The pandemic was in full swing last year. My mate of some 40 years tells me he's off to check his property in Spain, despite the strict rules on flying for non essential business. He's already hired someone to keep checks on the property while he's in the UK. Three weeks later he...

Do fancy spiral thicknessers just work without tearout?

I'm at a loss for words. All tools have to be set up correctly if you want a good result, so maybe you should spend some time setting the planer up correctly?. In other posts you say you want cheap ways/machinery to fulfil certain tasks...Yet here you have a £1000 machine sitting round...

    Pocket holes for draws

At the end of the day whatever you use you will be the only person to know how you constructed it, why you did it that way, and have to live with it. You will know that area quite not square, the part that is two mm short and the gap which has been filled in the bottom left hand corner. But...

    Extractor run length

It's not till you've been there and done it do you realise that. It's something we all go through I think.

    Extractor run length

Take a look at this. It gives a gen rule of thumb based upon extractor power. Just check your extractor power. Good luck.

    Extractor run length

I think you'll find the following useful. The internal rotation of the suction force multiplied by the hose diameter and then subtracting the hose thickness, then using the lower differential of the law of chip weight should give you some idea that I just can't help you with this question...

    Where are they now?

Seems to me forums shouldn't be the place to vent your anger or argue issues just because they can't afford private psychiatric help. In fact it would make things better if you could only post three replies on "Gen Chat" on any single thread.

    Customs declarations and brexit

I think you put that quite well. the EU like Scotland have had a good run but both wouldn't succumb to change, even when it was blatantly obvious change was needed. Looking at history shows that leaders and institutions only have a finite time scale to better or change things, if they don't...

    Silliness at Lidl last week

    Customs declarations and brexit

But, but, but...... This just doesn't apply to the UK. The US are complaining about the ridiculous amount of paper work for shipped goods, and threatening action against the EU. Even EU companies and private EU residents are complaining that purchase single source goods from the UK. Plus every...

    Silliness at Lidl last week

I think you went on the wrong week. Too excited, you misread the date on the free magazine. Good quality food has gone down the drain at Lidl and I expect tool quality will follow......Although it's cheap rubbish they sell now.

    Anybody used one of these?

Drill Countersink with rotating Depth stop. Ive been looking at the Trend snappy range.....but they arent cheap at £20 each and then the same again for every size drill diameter if you need them. Anybody got an alternative for multiple countersinking so they are all the same depth?

    Customs declarations and brexit

A Belgium friend asked me to contact a UK company where he buys his vitamin drops from. They had stopped delivering to the EU because of the paperwork and irate customers complaining about packages being held at EU customs. Indeed he was correct. This must be impacting lots of small companies...

    Advice on drawer runners needed

Thomas Chippendale would laugh himself senseless at that 10 year quote....... While I daresay you will be in a rocking chair telling your great grandchildren you remembered when drawer runners lasted ten years........
