In answer to the question of "What is the most positive and greatest impact I can have about climate change?" It is really quite simple given most people lack the will to do something fundamental about their lifestyles themselves but all agree something needs to be done but wont do anything...

@Orraloon start putting inlays just in from the edge on table tops and you will use the fence a lot especially if they are round table tops and don't have an Ulmia 728/1 or 2

    Workshop layout help/advice?

Think about how you process and work your materials. Dimensioning (width & thickness) first and what you use to do that and then work either clockwise or anti-clockwise around the workshop until you are at where you will apply the finish to the piece. Think about what powered kit will be used...

@Rustic Mike Gravity works independently of the earths rotation. It is dependent on mass and is strong enough to overcome the centrifugal force of the earths rotation to keep us on the surface, we would all go flying off otherwise. Even if the Earth were a tidally locked planet i.e had not...

looking for recomendation of an affordable 6" combination square

Just saw this thread and several people have beaten me to it by recommending Empire which are available from Homebase. They have 150, 300 & 400mm combinations squares. I bought a 400m initially as it was cheap but have found myself using it far more than my iGaging or my Moore & Wright vintage...

The only way in which anything will be done at governmental level that really does have a meaningful impact is if those in the positions of privilege and power feel that their ability to remain so is seriously threatened. Until then all they do will be too little too late.

Cup ring on newly applied Osmo finished oak worktop

How rude of me, I forgot to type the answer to the OP . If the marks are light grey to white and there is no synthetic finish on the piece just oil or wax then gentle application of you heat gun over 5 mins will slowly get rid of it. If the marks were dark bluey black or black then the...

    Ball corners

No that is the minimum radius for any edge on the front of a self build car in order to be declared safe for use on UK roads. So is probably a good guide to how sharp your corners want to be in order to minimize impact trauma on young bones.

    Ball corners

A 40mm radius is prescribed as the minimum edge radius allowed for the front possible contact parts of a car under SVLA rules, to prevent breaking injuries at low speed. As the kids will be going at low speed .... and have the corners rounded in both x an y axis. Not a ball as such but close
