You need something at the rear left hand side to prevent the board from sliding to the rear of the bench. If you look at my pic you will see a small spacer sticking up to act as a stop. Also the long leg of the doesfoot should run along the back edge not the right hand side of the board...

@robgul I'm looking at doing that with a little GCM8 I was given recently, the other side will have my Triton belt/bobbin sander on it to save floor space along with my little Scheppach Basa 1 and Parkside pillar drill, which are on one already

Thats very much like the Dura-grit sanding disks, you can get the little shaped cones etc but the actual disks for a ROS I have had to order from the states. It would be great if WWW stocked them, they are excellent for when you need 120g or less and very long lasting

Yes it is but is more than capable of turning non ferrous metals. I have used one for years to make finials and knobs etc for boxes and even used it to make a Victorian style set of 84 balusters 15mm high for holding a external water cooling pipe set up for a PC case in the shape of a guys...

If you want to do it cheap find an old Wolfcraft type drill powered lathe and some gravers tools or a mini partting tool and use that to make your own. Non ferrous metals are easy enough to do by hand this way.

A nice wide drum sander or belt sander with a motorised infeed belt would be fine. You can fit different grit belts on and adjust how much you take off with each pass and the feed rate.
