    Electric vehicles - again

The thing that gets me most is that the arguments put forward against switching are generally by people who have little to no real awareness as to what is in the pipeline over the next couple of years. Take a look at what is coming from China (deride them for politics etc but they are the tip of...

Is it possible to maintain a camber on the jack plane indefinitely

You are all going about this the wrong way. What you need to do is grind your own slipstone with the convex radius you desire, then attach a honing guide to hold the iron at the correct 25 deg angle and you will always have your perfect radius and a really sharp curved iron.

Did you buy any cheap tools that surprised you with being actually good?

In truth some of you don't know how lucky you are. When I first started driving, buying tanks of petrol for example was the stuff of dreams now you can buy one for less than half the cost of a Festool router :devilish:

    Router Bits

@Phil Pascoe, yes you were a bit late there Phil not by much just 81 years :p The generally accepted earliest known for sale electric router produced by the Kelly Company, though weighing in at 60lbs apparently came with a 1/2" shank bit. This was in 1908, I don't think you can get much more...

    Adding molding to slab mdf

I would suggest that it's best to make the mouldings out of the same material as the doors, esp if being painted. Or to make the moulding and leave it in the customers house for a couple of weeks to acclimatise and then fit it to the doors just before painting and fitting.

    Energy may go even higher

The bottom storage tank has a double wall which is filled with water and the wall of the top of the tank sits inside the double wall. The water acts as the seal and also allows the top to rise and fall as the volume of gas inside changes. First introduced in the early 1820s. The two big ones on...

Anyone want to do a weight loss challenge?

Since They discovered that I have Haemochromatosis and at the same time as having Lymphoma at the start of the current lurgy pandemic, I have put on ~20Kg. Partly due to having a year of steroids that raised my metabilism by around 400% and being locked in my flat not even allowed to go into...

Post a photo of the last thing you made

The spalting is truly lovely on this piece and you have chosen a shape to accentuate its beauty very well. Makes me want to look at it really really closely, even if there is a risk of getting a queen face-hugger jumping out of it.

    The Grammar Thread

Grammar in my house is a nightmare. SWMBO is a fully accredited CIEP proofreader and editor and English teacher, me, I just think that I'm a pedant, she normally points out I'm just a peasant cow-orker
