Best glue for wood to metal (small craft item)

"Traditionally" ( @AES 😛 )in all the fancy cabinet work like Louis XIV type stuff, where metal was bonded to wood, fish based glues were used rather than regular hide glue. probably due to the fact they act sort of like an epoxy in tht they are viscous and form a rather hard compound on curing.

    Does anyone print onto wood?

Depending on the size of the piece being done, I use a mix of methods. For largish bits, I use my proper vacuum pump which is set up with 2 x fire extinguishers between it and the work. They have valves that allow me to bring them to vacuum first and allow rapid air removal from the bag when...

    Veneer advice for a newbie

did you use flat or curved cauls? ideally you want a slight curve on the bottom of the caul so that as you tighten it down it spreads an even pressure across the board. Otherwise you may starve the joint towards the middle of the board leading to failure fairly quickly after assembly

    Face frames query MRMDF

MDF actually has the ability to take around 90kg being hung from a contiguous piece of board. from a single screw before giving way. The gosforth handy mand has a vid about it on his youtube channel from a few years ago. MRMDF is a little bit better given its differing structure.

    Grrrrr...Milwaukee, what a con.

That's due to them playing on their Amrican heritage in the US marketing and knowing they wouldn't sell anything to the yankees unless they belive it is American made.
