    hopping mad

How can you end up having a bad situation with Orange over problems with a hand set they did not supply?

    hopping mad

Well I can see that it is just me but I can't see your problem. You have a low end phone and all warranty issues are dealt with direct with the manufacture and they seem to be dealing with your problem. My dealings with Car Phone Warehouse have always been good

    A simple garden chainsaw mill

The op did say smallish logs so an electric saw could well work.

    Scroll virgin!

They are the Niqua blades from the correct seller. Hobbies call them yellow label blades for some reason and then to confuse things further they then split them up into 4 groups fine, medium, heavy and extra heavy. The medium blades range from number 3 to number 5 and the ebay price is similar...

    Olsen blade test

Thanks for the in depth report. I think based on your recommendations I will give them a try, I have only ever used Niqua blades and have been happy with them but perhaps I should experiment with others.

    New drill

I would say that if the drill is only for use in the workshop forget the cordless and buy a mains drill. There is a massive choice at a cheaper price and you won't have the problem of failed batteries again.

    Inca bandsaw

That is the same model of Inca saw as mine. I purchased it new in the late 1980's and it is the only bandsaw I have owned so I can't compare it to others but it has always done all I wanted it to do and I have never felt the need to replace it. If you can buy it at that price then do it you will...

    Recommend me a wheel barrow.

I have yet to see a builder using a plastic wheelbarrow. I recently needed to replace mine and looked at many makes and finally settled on a Maingate County galvanised metal model and also purchased the kit to convert into a twin wheel barrow. It was my opinion that this was the best barrow...

    Hinges for gates

Thanks for the ideas I think that fitting the hinges behind the feather board is a good idea but due to the weight of the gates I don't think that standard T hinges will be strong enough and using more heavy duty hinges may cause a problem behind the boards. The result I am trying to achieve is...

    Hinges for gates

I need to make a pair of gates for vehicle access at the end of a feather board fence and would like to make the frame of the gates out of 4 by 2 and 6 by 2 and then cover them with feather boards to match the fence but as the gates need to open outwards the hinges will need to be on the feather...

    Started the winter jobs!

Funnily enough I have now got to make 6 gates but shouldn't the vertical boards go to the bottom rather than sit on the top of the bottom horizontal rail?

Rutlands 210mm Bench Top Table Saw

The Dewalt one you linked to is 5 times the price of the Rutlands one. If I were you and this is your first table saw purchase I would buy the FFX one at £80 and buy some good blades to go with it then spend a bit of time setting it up and you will then be good to go.

small (bench top?) planer / thicknesser?

Personally I can't get my head round the problem with the noise of a motor in a machine, It will be drowned out when the machine is in use.

    Starting a new project

Well I think I take the prize for the longest time for the unfinished project. I left school 44 years ago and in my workshop is an unfinished nest of tables I started in my last year of school but never finished my late mother used them for many years covered with table cloths but after clearing...

    Replacing Meddings blade guides

I modified both my cheap scroll saws to use the clamps you have linked to and I am happy with the results for the price. Your sig suggests that you only want top quality and you will not find that for £2 per clamp I would suggest that you risk the low price and see for yourself if they will do...
