    TV licence requirements

Thanks for all the replies chaps. I need to think about it but it does seem pointless paying so much for the odd programme or film that is available elsewhere anyway. Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk

The nosing would be the exact same size to look at,just have more support underneath. It' have no straight through joint like you've got at the moment so wouldn't be relying on sticking end grain to end grain . The dotted line is where it would be cut back. Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk

Would a groove not make your life alot easier in terms of gluing up and getting a nice tight joint? The nosing would be wider aswell. Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk

I'd be tempted to do something like this on the mk2 version. Allow your nosing oversized and route a groove into the top then glue your contrasting strip in. Buy adding the piece to the groove, providing the strip is snug ,(even if it's not you could make that over sized aswell) should ensure a...

I found this last night whilst looking It says over 90% goes to the bbc. It would be nice to have the option to just pay the 10% and opt out of there channels. Perhaps I'm just being a scrooge. I buy a tv magazine every week and on a Saturday flick through and circle anything of interest. I...

Set of circular segmented steps - FINISHED!

Me to. If I were to have commented it would have been to agree with some of Jacob's thoughts. For it to stand half a chance the glue bond would have had to be very good. That would have meant nice tight joints but you're still left with short grain on the sides. I feel bad for Roger because alot...

My new years resolution is to not watch tv on weekdays until 9pm. It's much easier than I thought so long as I keep busy. This day in age I'm surprised they can get away with their bully/scare tactics. I'm half tempted to not get one just to see what happens. It's almost £160 a year now ! So...

    TV licence requirements

If I had a tv and deleted all the BBC channels would I still need a licence? I watch netflix and record the odd programme from the tv. I always thought the licence just paid for the BBC channels but after alot of googling it appears I need one which ever channel I watch (ITV etc) Most of the...

    eBay sometimes...

My 12 year old niece was able to order 2 e cigs and 14 bottles of vape juice. 2 bottles of champagne and a couple tiddly vodka bottles. She also ordered scalpels. All this from Amazon so guess they arent that bothered about age verification! Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk

Is that a glue join further to the left of the picture? Looks rather gappy so I'm assuming not? Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk

New Workshop Going Mouldy, Desperately Need Help!

Buy a decent dehumidifier and drill a hole for the hose/water to drain outside. It's not an ideal solution but it should keep the mould at bay until you can find a better solution till money/time allows. Smart looking shed !! Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk

So I'm not the only one then [WINKING FACE] The boxes have a certain charm about them if you have the room. Most of the ones I've seen have had custom holders made for specific saw handles so most likely need modifying to make them useful. They've also got alot of dead space which doesn't help...

    Carpenters tool chest

Before I smashed the toolbox up I did offer it to my workmate. I'd stacked a load of finished windows up ready to be dusted off for paint. For some reason I need to use the forklift and the front tyre just rubbed against one of the window cills. I could see it starting to tip so lent over to...

    Carpenters tool chest

Its difficult but I'm starting to believe that less could be more. My mum was a hoarder (think stuff up the sides of stairs about waist height !) so that probably didn't help with my thinking. All the potential uses of random crap are starting to become a burden more than a help. I think it's...
