Not sure if you received the two pms I sent yesterday ? The second pm would definitely be of interest if I were in your situation.......
This is a view looking up into the bags
This is the extractor just bolted onto the top. It was made to fit but I cant see why any extractor couldn't plonk on...
I'll look into adding some chemicals so the ph is nearer to what's needed. Because I had only one death I assumed the tank must be doing ok- the fish look and seem healthy enough. It's mainly the nitrate levels I've kept an eye on in the past. I know for certain that I've got hard water so would...
Didn't cross my mind tbh Phil. I saw loads of slate aquarium structures for sale on ebay and thought I could make something to suit the size of the tank. I'll have to look into it......immediately!- I just managed to find my 5in1 test strips and ph at the moment is 6. The fish seem to be doing...
I'm binging breaking bad so I can watch the movie. To be honest it seems a chore. I'm around 3.5 seasons in. Its really really good, it just seems they drag out each episode a bit.

Apologies for dragging this back up but I thought I should update. I received a heck of a lot of advice via pm and tried to take it all in. A few things that stand out were get a small tank and learn to deal with the deaths or get a big tank and watch everything flourish (that's how I...
Why are you trying to repair it yourself when it's only 2.5 months old ? Just get them to repair it or refund you.

Looking really smart Mike. Lots of components to deal with. The best ever ever ever ever ever thing I've done with cascamite is buy some scales. To start with it's a real thick lumpy paste but after adding the remaining water magic happens and the glue turns good. In comparison to titebond 3 I'd...
Same here. When I've ever tried it it sticks out like a small thumb. I've had better results using a 2pack hard filler. That must make me sound like I do alot of bodging [SMILING FACE WITH OPEN MOUTH AND SMILING EYES]

I've just fitted a brand spanking new 3/4 clico chisel and bit and thought about your idea. I wonder whether your idea might help the chips clear even better.... Its so squeaky snug when I stop the chisel I rotate the bit the opposite way to when the motors spinning and large charred shavings...
Great constructive post, well done.
Do you know what sort the battery is- nicd, nimh or lithium ion. It sounds a bit like it may have been discharged too much, or perhaps the battery is just old ?

I think you could make a better one. I'd expect it to cost more but you'll have piece of mind knowing it's up to the task.
