I think a mitre would look better,especially if you've got carving on them aswell. Dovetails might look overly fussy imho. Making the joint look like a mitre but having it strong enough to stay together is the fun part. Its been said before but get the timber for this dry and stable to improve...

Eps sharpen tenon saws. On the last one I wrote " not to much set please" as the previous one had so much set it was difficult to control. I ended up using a sharpening stone to help reduce the kerf. The last one is much much better though. Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk
