    Infrared workshop heating

Yes I use them in my workshop, wall mounted, I find them OK but it's a strange kind of heat, like the sun it only works when you're in it and only the side of you facing it, the air is still cold so yes you can still feel a chill. It does warm up your tools and glue ups quite well though. The...

    Mdf floating shelves

If you haven't already got the wood you may be better ti use two pieces of 15mm, sometimes when laminating mdf unequal thicknesses will cause the whole panel to bow a bit.

FTAGH Two face plates for unknown Lathe

I have two face plates both have had a hard life, I believe they probably came out of a school workshop, they were in with a Graduate Lathe that I bought but definitely don't belong to it. As best as I can measure they seem to have a thread of 14 tpi and about 21mm dia , oddly they do screw on...

    Only taken 45 years

I recon it must have been about 45 years ago, just before I went off to college that I was given this plane, it looked a bit iffy then and it still does now, but it has a Norris type adjuster that intrigued me so I took it along to see if I could try and make it work, well I surface ground the...

    Finishing end grain table

Can I ask is this wood dry? As either you have been very skilled or very lucky to dry it with out the bark falling off and no splits developing or as I suspect this piece is still quite green, in which case your finish will have have a war on its hands with the water in there.

    DX delivery service from Axminster

Whenever I have delivery at work by dx just one look in the back of the van is enough to make you give up all hope. If you do ever receive your goods it will have been walked on climbed over and sliding around in the back for two days. Good luck.

    Manual veneer guillotine blades

If it's anything like mine send the knife off to a saw doctor for regrinding, it is a very solid lump of very hard steel and beyond hand sharpening , but it won't need doing very often if you look after it.

    Compressor for auto filter cleaning

Can't really help other than to query your spec, 19mm hose infers a large volume demand but 20 litres per hour is minimal, doesn't add up to me🤔

Is this maple ply or maybe spruce?

Looks like a rotary cut Beech to me unusual to find that used as a decorative veneer but often used to make plywood.

    Formica and non-contact glue

I use both pva and cascamite no problems so long as you roll out the glue evenly and can press them well.
