    Have you seen the easy on hinge? I have some here and it will do what you want with 18mm thick top so you would need to recess them in 14mm and then they should work for you.

    Maybe Iroko, same kind of colour as Oak and was often used for doors and windows.

    Well they could be a range of others but I guess the first could be afromosia and the veneer anagree but that's really more of a gut feeling than anything, hope it helps.

    Well I suppose it stoped anyone meddling with it! we have the water stop **** under the floor behind the fridge, luckily the main stop **** in the road works very well.

    You don't get many sapele trees around these parts so I think as a Mahogany substitute Walnut must be on the list, it has similar working qualities if not the same price bracket.

    I made a coffee table from a old blacksmiths bellows that went to Australia, four of the last batch of games tables are going to somewhere in Russia one already gone to California, loads of stuff in Massachusetts,Texas, I never get out of the workshop!!!!
