    Mains or machine on/off switching?

Two reasons I can think of, the switch on a 13a plug won't last very long switching a large load like a compressor and the other is to let the auto switch do what it does, as when it comes up to pressure and turns the compressor off it will also releave the cylinder head pressure ready for when...

    Wardrobe drawers

The under mount /concealed drawer runners that I use and I'm sure they are all the same are designed to take a maximum of 16mm drawer side, so I usually thickness drawer sides at 15mm and dovetail them. So you could use either 15mm birch ply or 16mm veneered MDF, ash or beech can be quite...

Now you know what is it I'm making, A roof update

I'm afraid I can't take any credit for the plastering or lead work apart from preparing the ground work, but yes I'm pleased how it's turned out. Thanks all for the comments, and have a merry Christmas.

Dip treated vs pressure treated vs neither

Pure guess work here so probably wrong but my thoughts are that pressure treated is best but unless the shed manufacturer has the equipment will have been done before manufacture so not so good, were as dipped will probably be done after manufacture so all the cut ends and holes etc will get...

Fixing a torch in a car

However you do it just remember that the dash board of most cars are made of soft spongey material for a reason, if you fix a metal fork to it it may well be what you land on in the event of a sudden stop or accident.

It's a very deep well, with a large drinking trough to the side, while eating my sandwich I was wondering about the gearing, it seems very low I guess the bucket must have been raised very slowly but of high capacity. Apparently it's 156' deep and the winding gear has a 6:1 ratio ie. six turns...

Cleaning a stain off posh red leather handbag

Can't think of any funnies at the moment, but sounds it's more likely a bleach mark than a stain so you may need to re color it, a bit of red spirit stain or similar might do the job. does it match your shoes? got any red shoe shine?

Toughened all round, BTW ordinary glass is called annealed glass, get the top piece ground and polished all round and just lay it in a rebate. What you haven't said is how you get in side, you will need to be able to adjust, clean and remove the contents.

morrells wouldn't sell me primer ?

Their products are really meant as industrial products and not for general diy, so maybe the man on the desk thought you didn't have the training or equipment to use the product safely?
