HELP! Staining light (soft?) Wood into dark mahogany.

The stain I used was a Wilko 5 year woodstain in Mahogany (Satin). Now I've bought a Ronseal Quick drying woodstain in Teak (Gloss). Sound to me that you have brought fence paint! not really what you want for furniture, or is it an outside table?

    Not enough noggins?

If it were me I think I would cut a hatch in the OSB over the middle of each joist so that I could fit some support blocks, yes the ground will still heave but at least it would reduce the floor bouncing.

    induction motor getting hot help!!

if you really must use a 400mm blade you may find an old plate saw well filed that is, will need less HP to cut with than a modern TCT blade, of course it won't stay sharp as long though.

What to use to "scoop out" chair top?

If you can work out how to draw it in 3D in something like Sketchup then the easiest way to go is cnc and I find really satisfying when it all works out.

Now you know what is it I'm making, A roof update

Hi Roger, I used Sketchup to design and develop it, sizes were just a gut feeling plus a bit. But now I have a cnc if I did another i think I would go the laminated ply route for a change.

    Optimiser for cutting lengths

Can't you just use your normal software, enter the timber size as you starting sheet size and use as normal, it works in optimax anyway.

    63mm tubing for "occasional" planing/thicknessing?

Sorry Bob but in this case I think it would make things worse, the first shavings to hit it will block it up then back up into the machine and snarl that up, you then spend 20 minutes clearing it all up, may as well just sweep the floor in TV the first place.

    Glasshouse build

If I understand your question correctly all the way through, it will allow you to wedge the tenons and especially on cills it will prevent water getting trapped which will cause rot.

    Building a deck

If it helps here's my experience of building my own deck, I put mine down parallel to the house and regret it, it makes it difficult to sweep out the groves and clear water I see where you are coming from with ladders but that's solvable, as for slippery well clean it! the second thing I did...

    Laminating for beginners

If you go with veneer you would need 9 or ten layers which will give you a problem using a water based glue it just won't dry because of all the water.
