    Both stability and consistently, using 2.5mm construction veneer it all came up the same clean colour and grain. Simple designs are more often than not the more difficult to make.

    Update, as of Monday this week I finally finished off this staircase that I started in April, and yes the glass really is as heavy as it looks.

    I think the important bit is the primer, I think Teknos do a mdf sealer that is recomended by Medite it stops colour bleed though.

    Well I opened a new full bottle and no ooz over so it would indicate a possible connection with volume of air/ glue ratio. Another point is this glue is much thinner than your average pva so maybe the air bubble theorum won't work so well here. :|

    But surely the volume of glue I have squeezed out would counteract any expansion of air and cause a slight vacuum in side when squeezing stops.

    Hello Jon, welcome to the club, as for your gap I think you need to give more information ie what os the table top made from, solid wood or man made panel if it's solid is it softwood or hardwood, how is the chess board made and lastly you say you were about to paint it, do you really mean paint...

    I'm currently doing some work in a new build house where they have/are using tanalized or at least the modern equal timber for all the internal stud walls and roof timbers, this seems to me to be rather strange choice rather than using CLS C16.
