    How To Buy Hardwoods

If you are just starting out have a look through some of Custard's other previous posts. He certainly helped me along the way with some of his informative and well written postings.

    The Grammar Thread

I'm glad you noticed my attempt at a joke. I'll confess it wasn't my best work.

This was all my fault and I apologise.

Not sure if this translates well into text but here it goes... Knock Knock Who's there? Dunnup Dunnup who? What on my doorstep?

Can anyone identify this wood please?

I am far better at identifying wood if the picture also includes at least the bark, but ideally the leaves and a photo taken from a distance of the entire tree. Photos like this for me are just a fun guessing game which I have about a 50/50 success rate at. (or maybe less)

    Guns,guns, and more Guns

I had the opportunity to visit a police firearms training establishment a few years ago where among other things we were shown videos of police engagements to try to illustrate how quickly armed response officers have to make their decisions based on what they see before them. Stihl/Husqvarna chainsaw bars or cheaper generic type?

Only ever used Oregon bars and chains. Nothing wrong with them at all.

Always difficult from a picture but I'm going to vote sycamore.

    Rats in the garden

Persevere with the trapping. Often they can take a while to get used to something new. Airgunning them might work, bait them somewhere that's safe to shoot, peanut butter or something similar that they can't pick up and move and have to eat in situ. Then, get you a coffee, lie in wait and...

    Epoxy Glue--Metal to Plastic

gflex is incredible stuff. I've never had much success gluing plastic to anything with epoxy. The bond never seems to last. I would look for a mechanical fixing myself as said above.

    Energy Saving

Tea bags in a bottle of water, leave it in the fridge for four days. Four bottles on rotation, bottle a day. Sell your kettle on ebay and buy a second hand plane with the proceeds then just watch the energy savings pile up.

Or. Just drink cold brew coffee and iced tea.
