    Elm needed

How much sinew do you need? I can get sinew from deer. Mostly lower leg as a lot of the deer I shoot go to a gamedealer. I can get backstrap out of any I butcher but these would mainly be roe or muntjac.

    Wood id ?

What makes you say that it's definitely not beech? The nodules on the bark look very beechy. I'm not entirely sure the bark is silvery enough for Holly and it doesn't look to me like sycamore at all.

"Off the shelf" vs DIY workbenches

Not sure if it's helpful but I had a loooong gap in my woodworking and used building my bench as a sort of practice for the type of techniques that I have used in the past but hadn't done in say six or eight years. Dovetails, mortice and tennons, edge jointing, breadboard ends etc etc. I...

    Land rover

I had a Defender as my first car. It was excellent in that it taught me about welding and mechanics because there was always something wrong with the bloody thing. It also taught me to always keep a ready supply of any and all of the fluids you might need to have to keep a vehicle running...

    Fibreglass or EPDM flat roof?

I have some experience with glassfibre in boatbuilding and have done a few roofs with it. I have also repaired roofs where the glass was poorly laid by numptys. Issues like getting moisture on the glass mat, not mixing the resin and catalyst properly. Not finishing with proper gelcoat, just...

    Wind fall Wood

Keep asking. If there is a clearfell there is quite a lot of wastage it may just be that there wasn't a suitable clearfell etc where you are. Also you can ask if they have any small spot sales which might be the tail end of a timber stack etc.

    Wind fall Wood

As Marcos said. Nowadays as well fallen timber has value as biomass and may even be included in a sale for that purpose. Can't hurt to ask though.

What can I do with this Cherry tree?

Cherry does split as it dries like a splitty thing. It's lovely wood to turn with though but I'd recommend you get the pith cut out of it and cut to oversize blanks as soon as you can. Seal the end grain and let it dry. The last lot I did I guess I lost 40% to splitting. It's excellent...

    Any arborists?

If it pollards like Sycamore It will be just as Greenfellers describes. And it will look horrible.

    Any arborists?

I'm not an arborist really. I've just done some tree work, forestry, climbing etc etc in the past.

    Milling trees

It's something I want to get into but haven't had chance yet. Moved house a few times in the last few years. Hopefully the next one is the last and I can start to get myself set up.
