    Internet connectivity probs

OK, this will sound like a cop out but have you tried re-booting it? Can you get to anything on the internet? It could be an issue with your ISP's DNS server or stale DNS records locally. Happy to take a look remotely. Jon.

Cyclone separator - now with video :)

Hi Greg, If you click on the pictures you should see more. Essentially there is a container inside the drum which the vacuum plugs into via the lid, the inlet is at the side of the drum. I'll do a video in a bit to explain a bit more clearly. MG, very happy with the Nilfisk but will need...

Cyclone separator - now with video :)

Stu_2 kindly gave me a commercial soap barrel to use as a catch tank a couple of weeks ago but haven't had time to have a play with it. In my head I had several ideas after watching many You Tube videos over the last few weeks and started on it this morning after cutting the ply circles last...

    Outside project with Iroku

Thanks :) The grain looks like it radiuses through the boards, sort of like these bits are from somewhere between the core and bark of the tree. Will try and take a pic :) Cheers, Jon.

    Outside project with Iroku

Why not? They are Beech hardwood? They are not ever likely to see moisture anyway due to the Titebond III. Sorry, just re-read and didn't want to come across as argumentative, just wondered why they are not suitable. Cheers, Jon :)

    Outside project with Iroku

Hi Guys, After reading a thread on here re an outside table I have the hardwood ready to replace the plastic side tables on my Grillzebo. The timber finished size will be 360mm x 1500mm and currently it's in 2 lengths at 180mm x 1550mm. It's 25mm thick. I'm planning to use either 8 or 10mm...

You didn't want to do that!

LOL, remember the feeling. Was assembling the kitchen units when I first moved into a house..... Me being me had over engineered a 900mm corner unit, assembled the unit and used strong stuff to bond it (Gripfill et al) fortunately it was the last unit to be assembled in the living room to be...

    Festool Roadshow Deals??

Hi All, I'm considering going to the Festool Roadshow one day this week. Have any of you been and do they do any decent deals on the day? I'm hankering after the Domino DF500 full kit and wondered if they are likely to be doing any deals. Don't own any Festool gear at the moment but after...

    Car radio fitting

Hi Kev, Try these guys: http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/ They will be able so supply the DIN adapter to match the car and will also stock the connector adapters (if required) and removal tools which should make replacing the stereo a doddle. I used to do a lot of car audio and mainly bought...

    3M facemask spares

Glad you got it sorted :) Do you happen to have an email\number for them? I have been trying to get a pair of 3M Peltor Sportac ear defenders sorted but gave up after 3 months of not being able to get a response from them. At £200 you would expect better service!! Cheers, Jon.

Biscuit joining Mdf aquairum cabinet.... What glue?

Just a suggestion as I can't see it in the drawings would be sum 2x3 in the cabinet to help carry the load. You may also want to consider making the top out of 1" MDF or laminating 2 sheets of 3/4" together. The above comments are added as I have a custom made stand for my tank that was made...

Newbie to Jigs - Router guide bush with collar problem.

Hi All, I'm fairly new to routing and have mainly used it in the table, for a garden table restoration i'm doing I needed to remove an old mortice and insert a repair piece in order to give me a secure fixing for a Domino prior to re-assembly. The ideal solution seemed to be a guide bush and...

How to measure a recessed space accurately

Have a look at a vernier caliper, will measure internals, externals and depth very accurately. Even a cheap digital one will measure to a tenth of a mm. Jon.

    Garden Furniture Hardware

Hi All, Wasn't really sure where to post this, sure the mods will move if required. I'm currently refurbishing a Teak garden table and chairs, I have taken the first chair apart and the fixings are horrible, rusted which has stained the wood etc. Anyway, I like to do any job properly and...
