    Extraction - My solution...

As promised here are some pics of what I have come up with to sort the extraction on my Hegner (Other scrollsaws are available ;) ) It's all done in 36mm solvent weld pipe and bends, none of it is welded with the exception of the access plug where 36mm didn't give enough flow and was a bit...

    Hegner 2S Tweeks\Advice

Adapters..... tell me about it ;) I'm trying to make everything the same size, have sorted the extraction on most of my DeWalt stuff, Festool to be the same size. Have come up with a solution for the bottom extraction which is pulling about 95% of everything from down there. That may actually...

    Hegner Quick Release

Hi All, Sorry for yet another Hegner question!! Is the quick release for the top blade clamp just a knurled nut or does it come with other parts? £24 seems very expensive for a knurled nut? Cheers, Jon.

    Any ideas anyone

GIMP is also good for the Mac and free. I use it to get rid of unwanted stuff from images, resize as needed but not that easy to get on with initially. Good on you for helping another scroller :) Jon.

    Hegner 2S Tweeks\Advice

I will definitely post it Brian! Have a rough idea what I'm going to do tomorrow extraction wise initially, then see how it works and refine as these things do. If it's of any interest to the other scrollers on here or anyone with a scroll saw really I'll document it but the measurements will...

    Hegner 2S Tweeks\Advice

Thanks Chris :) I have been through all the electrical bits and replaced the plug, a trailing socket fitted the correct fuse and rewired the other connections. The wiring was bloody shocking to be honest. Next step was making a base which I have done, I'll be using the saw indoors and...

    Hegner 2S Tweeks\Advice

Hi All, Me again ;) After my recent question about upgrading my Record SS16V it subsequently died last night so forced the decicion as I have a large order to cut! Having spent 7 hours in the car today and driving halfway up the country I have returned home with a Hegner 2S with RCD and...

    Record Power SS upgrade?

Some fantastic work in the posts above from some of the "cheaper" saws, if they work, they work :) My Record decided it had had enough tonight, sparks and popping from the motor, then wouldn't hold speed, up and down and then finally stopped. Motor wasn't even warm to the touch and was only...

    Hegner Owners - South East

Hi All, Bit of a cheeky request but i'm still trying to decide whether to bite the bullet and upgrade to a Hegner. As my previous thread states i'm considering an upgrade from the Record as i'm now spending several hours a day on the SS. Do any of you live anywhere near Slough, Berkshire that...

    Record Power SS upgrade?

Hi John, I pretty much got rid of the vibration by making a solid base and bolting the SS to it, then use 4 clamps to clamp it to the workbench. I have smoothed the table to an extent and waxed it with the stuff I use on my other tools, when I get chance I will take it off and block it with...

    Record Power SS upgrade?

Hi All, Been using a Record Power SS that I bought about 18 months ago on a whim having always wanted a SS. Been using it on and off, more off until I fettled with it and bought some Pegas blades which have made a huge difference :) Recently I have been cutting animal figures and other...

    wiring

Sporky is bang on the money. If you solder the flex you run the risk of screwing through the soldered flex or creating a hotspot over time. Flex is designed as such to displace and make the maximum surface contact within the connector in screwed connections. The type of crimps above are fine...

Any Warfarin users in the workshop?

Hi Neil, As already mentioned you probably want to check with your coag Nurse\Doctor, how thin your blood is required to be will be indicated by your target INR level. My partner was put on Warfarin a few months ago following a massive heart attack and she tolerated the warfarin better than...
